As a sniper-restricted weapon(and sniper squad also only has 5 soldiers maximal) it should have a little bit more ammo. From my perspective, it’s actually the counter of Bar for Germany(since FG42 has insane recoil). MG42 is a god-tier weapon but lacks any kind of mobility which is important in CQC. I prefer MG42 when I defend and prefer FG42 II when I have to rush in small maps and conquests.

So you want more ammo for the sniper FG. Even weirder than wanting more ammo for the regular FG tbh. Sniper is perfectly fine as it is.

Despite being a sniper weapon it’s actually a counter for Bar. Even buff to 20/80 wouldn’t be OP just to match all other automatic weapons(rifles not inclusive).
BAR does not need a counter, its countered by 2 guns that are better than it.

There was no need to reduce the ammo in the first place. Did they reduce the BAR ammo too? Who knows
The whole ammo-reducing strategy is doing nothing more than encouraging more camping. And Fg42 II is the only sniper weapon to encourage players to take part in CQC, which is the focus point of this game.
If they add ability to use BAR on every soldier it will have same ammo count as fg42 currently.
But cause its classified as lmg and only usable by gunners it has same ammo count as other lmg’s

Snipers with 20/80 ammo? Let the building clearing to professional assaulters and go hide on a hill with your engineer. No sniper class of whaterver faction using whatever weapon needs that much bullets…

to be fair, i really think that basically on any FG42, if you have the large ammo pouch (the brown one) it should give you 160 ammo considering that the LAP has 2 pouch3es on each side, with each having 2 pockets, and each being able to hold 2 magazines
