Buff Bren Mk l 100 by bring down it's BR from 4 to 3

This gun is terrible in BR 4 and needs to be in BR 3 instead. My reason being, it’s basically just a BR 2 Bren gun but given a better sight picture and 100 rnds mag but increased BR by not 1 but whooping 2. I’m saying this because there’s similar gun like this. Same BP gun as well. Lahti-Saloranta M/26-32.

So compared to the Lahti-Saloranta M/26-32, Bren MK l 100 having 25 rnds more in the mag, 30 more RoF, better sight picture and… that’s it. Now Lahti-Saloranta M/26-32 have 75% sprint factor while Bren Mk l 100 having only 40% sprint factor which is huge by the way, 0.6 ADS speed while Bren Mk l 100 only having 0.3 ADS speed, waaay better moving spread values as well. Yet, Lahti-Saloranta M/26 with 20 rnds mag is BR 2 and Lahti-Saloranta M/26-32 is BR 3. I honestly don’t think Bren MK I 100 is a better gun than Lahti-Saloranta M/26-32, so why Bren MK l 100 should be BR 4 instead of BR 3? Just because it has 25 more rnds in the mag? But it’s 100 vs 75 in this case which matters not as much as something like say, 25 vs 50 in terms of magazine size as 75 rnds mag is already good enough in the most case scenario. It makes no sense honestly and Bren MK l 100 should be BR 3 instead given it’s performance.

It’s not a bad gun and nether is ether TT Bren for that matter (minus the top load mag). If the handling was a bit worse it would be passable as BR 3 but It does pretty well at BR4 in it’s current state IMO.

75 rds is pushing it but 100rds, no matter the gun dosent belong in BR3

All the people who vote against this see nothing but the mag size, meanwhile Bren has pathetic Sprint Factor of 40%, probably the worst in the game right now.

This is true the sprint factor is bad and I’m numbed to this issue as I use it with the Johnson as a Primary to run around and the Bren 100 for the better control and light AA as a secondary. 100 rounds at BR 3 could be worse I’m not worried, for me I’m worried about the fact it handles well and the sights are good. If it handled worse then I’m fine with BR 3.
Disclaimer: I am A US main though so I’m probs at least a little Biased.
(edit) Also worth noting the Rpms are low and the 100 rounds doesn’t mean much when someone has a better TTK than you and wipes you thus preventing you using said 100 rounds. The dispersion is worse than the Lathi-Saloranta M/26-32 so the likely hood of you missing is higher too.
(edit upon edit)
Two other options should be: Debuff the recoil and make it BR 3, or buff the sprint factor (eg 65-75%) and dispersion and leave it Br 4.

Is this another member of “no matter how trash the gun is, muh 100 rnds” gang? I see. :joy:
Surely, you’d enjoy using M1919A4 for yourself, righto?

What’s funny is that people who voted no, i have a good suspicion about them that they actually never used this gun on BR 4. They have no idea how actually bad it is to use this compared to other fast firing LMG(Which, honestly even those fast firing ones often getting out performed by SMG/Assault rifles at the same BR)

People need to ask a question for themselves which is “would i use Bren MK I 100 over MG 34 with 50 rnds on BR 3?” the answer is most likely no but they are so biased and scared of 100 rnds mag alone that honestly, i suspect that they are the one of the reason that some of those awful 100 rnds LMG like Maxim-tokarev, M1919A4, M1919A6, Browning .303 staying in trash bin like that for years.

You should ask for this gun to be buffed.

But 100 rounds ar BR3… yeah no, we already have some with 75 and they are incredible at this BR.

Oh boy, this topic has been a rollercoaster for me…

I was initially going to vote “no”, then changed my mind after reading the suggestion and considering the arguments, and now I’m back to no again…

Yeah, this is a better solution I think.

Currently, I am really unsatisfied with how the Bren 100 operates - it’s a Bren so I should love it… but I don’t, it feels so janky when shooting, and I hate the Spiderweb sights (I hate Spiderweb sights in general for that matter). It’s so weird when shooting at times… even after deploying the bipod or lying down I still can’t seem to hit things with it past 100m, I don’t know if that’s because of dispersion or becauze the zero isn’t aligned with that my brain thinks should be the point of aim on the spiderweb sights…

And moving around makes you fire at everything except what you’re aming at… for a supposed AA version of the gun, it’s rather horrible at everything except hosing down rooms with hip-fire - that it is actually very good at, as with most high-capacity MGs.

I think this gun has a classic problem: lots of ammo, but no chance to fire it all.
Even though it has a large drum magazine, it suffers from many drawbacks such as low fire rate and poor sprint penalties. In practice, you almost never get to empty the drum. It often gets overwhelmed by the MG42 and other high‑rate‑of‑fire machine guns. It lacks suppression capability. With such a slow firing speed, even submachine guns can take out this machine gun at range. Honestly, considering its rarity, this weapon only works properly at BR3.
Just like the LAD. They share the same issues.

No! Buff it and keep in on BR IV

I think this is the promlem
A 10Kg LMG with big drum shouldn’t have this sprint factor, 60% is reasonable at most

The bren should stay at br 4 with a buff to dispersion and sprint factor. I also believe that that the m1919a4 and browning .303 should be brought down to br3 after they get the ability to hipfire due to the fact you get the penalty of no aim down sight.

Amen!

Unless they change it, it got to be one of the worst gun out there.

It’s not even a copy-paste of a mid-performing gun in BR II, it has worse stats than the original one lmao.

It’s atrocious. The large mag make no difference. Rather keep reloading my br II bren than convince myself using this hot pile of trash again .

Sure. Let’s say that it should get a buff instead of BR decrease, what’s it going to be then? Sprint factor? Okay but you know the original bren gun mk1 already with only 50% sprint factor. Are we going to make this gun have higher sprint factor than that with this gun actually being even heavier with 100 rnds mag? Even if we give the same sprint factor as original 30 rnds bren gun mk1 on BR 2 40% from 50% sprint factor alone won’t fix anything that why this gun being utter garbage on BR 4. RoF increase for this gun is ofc also out of the window because it’s still just Bren gun Mk 1. So what buff are we going to give it realistically speaking that would stop this gun being utter trash on BR 4?

The Lahti-Saloranta M/26-32 is a nice gun but it’s nowhere near from being the meta LMG on BR 3. Actually, i know that lots of people do prefer MG 34 over Lahti-Saloranta M/26-32 due to the RoF difference alone. Surprisingly, RoF matters a lot. I know, what a surprise right? If it’s fine on BR 3 then the gun with 25 rnds more in the mag but basically worse in every possible way should be fine on BR 3.

I just don’t get these people keep trying to over value the 100 rnds mag in this game. If it was really that good as these people claimed to be, then the guns like LAD, PP Shpitalniy 1940, PPD 1944 and those shitty 100 rnds LMGs on BR 5 and 4 all should be the meta guns or at least being considered as nearly good as meta guns but they aren’t. Actually the opposite. So what’s the real reason other than “bUt nO 100 RnDs oN bR 3”? Feels like there’s no basis for this whatsoever other than the sentimental reason.

This won’t fix anything and plus, are you willing to give it higher sprint factor and dispersion than the BR 2 bren gun mk 1 then? Even if it makes zero sense given the context of that this gun is still the same Bren gun mk 1 from BR 2 but only heavier.

I totally agree with you on this one.

Or just make LMG in general have less sprint factor penalties. Because having only 40-50% sprint factor on your gun might works in BR 2 for the balance but it’s an overkill on higher BR especially compared to SMG/SF/Assault rifles.

Do you know what realy needs this? The M1919A4. Buff that before we go on to anything like this.
