Buff AT rifles v2

It’s a follow up post to this one:
https://forum.enlisted.net/t/at-rifles-in-tunisia-desperately-need-a-buff/24778

So I took all the great advices that some of you gave me (really guys, I couldn’t figure it out myself (sarcasm)) and learned weak points and ammo locations of the enemy tanks.
These are the results:

Am I hitting the centre of mass of this ammo rack? No, but not exploding after 10 rounds fired is ridiculous.

anti tank rifles are supposed to be weak (especially semi auto ones), just like they were in real life. I just use the PTRD41 in moscow because it can destroy any tank part with 1 to 2 shots, but it also takes a lot time to reload, i hate the semi auto ones…

Their weakness irl is:

  • low penetration
  • accumulated damage (so you can damage only one component / crew member) although not always

How is that similar to what is on the video? On the video we see NONE of the problems mentioned above. What we see is stupidly low damage against tank’s components.

AT guns are booooring. It’s easier to toss a explosion pack and then go back to infantry shooting.

Sometimes you can’t get close enough. I would drill the rivets to destroy the damn thing if I had enough time.
Also “x weapon is better, trash the y one” is rather bad way of balancing a game.

is it normal to do absolutely nothing to an m1440 or m1390 (cant remember which) with the boys at when hitting it in the back of the turret point blank?

I think that you mean the M14/41. I find that it’s easier to “track” that tank then finish it with TNT.
The boys doesn’t pen it well because it is an actual “tank” unlike the AB41 which is an armored car. The armor is just too thick.

Snipe the track, throw TNT, profit.

If you are that close, just TNT the tank

that dosent work when ur out of tnt or u never had any to begin with.
kinda a bummer the at rifle is not actually at but it is the first one after all. if thers a second one is it any better?

In Tunisa I believe that the 2nd AT weapon to unlock is the PIAT. At 1st it seems like it doesn’t do anything, but when you understand where to aim, it is deadly against any tank that I’ve faced

Component damage can definitely be underwhelming, or at least overly random.
But that seems to be a damage model problem and not an AT rifle problem.

how about other campaigns? do the other campaigns (normandy dosent hafta be included) have decent at rifles?

The PIAT isn’t an AT Rifle, it launches a shaped charge. But most campaigns have AT weapons that are issued to AT gunners. Some are great, some are terrible. But I almost always prefer TNT

I use AT rifles against infantry. Very satisfying.

What’s the point of it if Panzerfaust cannot destory a Stuart

For Moscow:
It took me quite a while to get successful with PzB.38 or 39 but once you know where to aim at (and hit!) enemy armor, it’s hard hitting fun.
The Granatbüchse 39 has much less range but the impact on target often…makes me smile.

Never used the Boys. Using the PTRD, as well as using the PzB against both Russian and British tanks, I’ll say that neither of them really struggle to pen, but post-pen damage can be anywhere between massive and negligible.

You could detonate an ammo rack or destroy an engine in one shot, or you should just turn whatever you hit yellow.
