The first Garand Light Rifle prototype, pictured with a 10 round magazine.
History
The Garand Light Rifle was one of many submissions in the first Light Rifle trials in May 1941, which eventually led to the adoption of the M1 Carbine from Winchester’s design. This first trial had a requirement for full-auto firing capabilities, meaning a few of the weapons could arguably considered as assault rifles. The Garand Light Rifle prototype from May 1941 was one of these weapons, with options of 5, 10, 20, and even 50 round magazines.

Tech Tree, Event, or Premium?
I personally would like to see Assault Rifle options included into the tech trees of all nations where there are appropriate options for lower BRs. This post refers to an Assault Rifle for the USA tree, but there are certainly options for the other tech trees, and this suggestion is not intended to exist in a vacuum (AKA I don’t have USA bias. I want more ARs for all trees as sidegrades for SMGs).

How would you like to see this weapon implemented?

Stop hating if we’re doing to prototype shit the AS-44 was a prototype the creator literally died before before it was finished and like half the Japanese is a prototype or didn’t exist so please shut the fuck up you anti fun hater.

One mistake doesn’t make another fair.
If there ever was a need to add AK47 prototypes, then maybe STG44 shouldn’t have 30% too fast rate of fire.
Considering it’s likely gonna be some time before BR4 becomes as viable as the other BRs, America has one of the worst BR4 lineups, and I like new guns, I don’t see a reason why this shouldn’t be added to the game.
Yeah just add it as event. That is a good rule for these prototype weapons.

Since when WW2 prototypes are not part of WW2 history? XDD
Truly an obcene opinion.

That ship sailed years ago, mate.
Well it is, for the most part, most of the guns function almost 1-1 like their real counterparts
I’m saying it’s fantasy land because they never saw combat, use your brain
I just want the 50rd one at BR5 somewhere

Well, the reports don’t say what they saw. Soldiers were killed, soldiers died with those weapons in combat. So saying “they were made and were part” of WW2 is incorrect. It’s one thing to give suggestions like this, such as New Content for the battle pass, or an event reward like a solo or squad weapon. But seeing it on TT is not right

Guns already in the game never saw combat, ever heard of the Charlton Automatic Rifle? It’s a New Zealand gun in the game, it never saw combat it was given to the home guard of New Zealand and not front line troops and if you know your history New Zealand was not invaded. This is just one example there are more, as I said before if you want to play a 100% historically accurate game idk play Hell Let Loose.
