You mean like SF rifle as assaulter weapon ?
Or was there something specific what you consider unique that no one else has ?
Mg with no movement dispersion and 100 round mag with light mg level speed penalty.
This should be made a suggestion. It can be a huge topic.
Alternatively, it might be possible to retain the body armor protection while adding a -25% run speed debuff. This would be more balanced than what we have now.
Even then it shouldn’t be put in cosmetic category with 0 in-game information about it’s effects
Imagine the confusion of having some of your Berlin soldiers move slower without seemingly any reason
In case of retaining the reduction value it should be made a piece of backpack slot equipment with appropriate speed reduction
I am fine with it being protective if it literally any downside at all, even something as small as being a backpack slot would be fine.
Technically the new JP assault rifle has a bayonet but as for why the Mkb42(H) and (W) still don’t have a bayonet by now is pretty ridiculous
The new joke.
Previously, it was the Americans getting a 200 round MG before the Germans got a 100 round MG 42.
I think it’s utterly insane how people have been asking for a Mkb42(H) bayonet for years and the devs respond by giving a bayonet to the Fedorov Avtomat. I’m pretty sure the developers are just actually ragebaiting people
Heres the thing, if we go the real realism route, those armor plates could eat multiple bursts from a MP40 standard ammo without penetration - at least when not in super close range.
Everything bigger than a 9mm will most likely go through - and not just that, armor in the realistic sense would work somewhat like tank armor in warthunder, penetration means full damage and no penetration means no damage ( with maybe some blunt damage )
So Декард is actually right that those plates can survive multiple hits - however what definitely CANT do is damage reduction against rifle rounds.
Rifle rounds in 99% of the cases should bot be effected by this armor what so ever.
As far as I managed to find out a Kar98 can be stopped with some chance starting at around 500 meters distance.
So if armor would finally get adressed - a real makeover should really be considered, and before making armors very effective against SMGs, they should make those plates actually only cover the front chest
I mean yeah, just because armor stops a bullet doesn’t mean it stops the transfer of kinetic energy
You can make armour to stop a proper rifle round, doesn’t mean you’re ribs aren’t gone. Tank armour works that well because if it doesn’t penetrate nothing happens. All body armour still transfers kinetic energy into the person wearing it, which would still cause damage.
They absolutely are, in a sense I can understand - its very human to troll people that are constantly crying like little girls.
If I was a dev, I would triple the effectiveness for Soviet body armor in the next 1. April event.
Yes, there is a reason why moder body armor use shock absorbers and trauma plates behind the main armor - which even help as stopping rounds that just barely made it through or to catch shrapnel.
Those old WW2 plates would indeed do poorly in this regard - however, a 9mm round doesn’t have much power behind it anyways and as long as the round doesn’t create noticable deformation at the back, the plate would pretty much just absorb most of the kinetic energy and disperse it across the entirety of the plate.
A round actually “physically speaking” has the same kinetic energy as the recoil of the gun, its just concentrated on one tiny point.
Yes, and that caused damage to people wearing body armour.
Biggest problem with that is that it would be way too impactful from the gameplay perspective
Encounters are completely random. Not only are they random about who you’ll encounter from the enemy team, but also who is on the enemy team and even nation you’ll be playing against
and you never know who you’ll run into, so preparing a rifle squad instead of assaulter squad to accommodate for existence of body armor becomes not a reactive action but a precaution
On its own it’s already bad because you’d have to either risk having unusable squads or just never use them which makes variety of gameplay less fun
The issue becomes even larger when you consider that most meta weapons are SMGs
So that would fix the realistic perspective but would suck major ass in terms of gameplay, the same reason why weapon jamming was scrapped as a mechanic
Well and thats exactly the reason why overall the Soviet body armor plates on their own were actually a failed concept, which is why they were primarily used by combat engineers for shrapnel protection.
Germany never deployed SMGs on mass to begin with, most their troops had rifles with each group having a MG as their main fire power. Those plates maybe had some limited effect in Stalingrad, but later in the war where STGs became more common, they completely lost their cqc impact.
Highly unlikely, I believe the memeretta 20 round vs ppsh41 back in moscow was very reasonable to add at same level.
Or remembering to fix Mp38’s broken 0.21 dispersion about soon as ppl figured it out but accidentally forgetting ppsh41 box for several years.
I heard an anecdote from a person who got shot in a chest by a pistol while wearing modern body armor and they described it as being hit in the chest by a baseball thrown as hard as possible from a professional pitcher
Really I don’t want to imagine the effects of being shot by just wearing a basic slab of metal
