Hello, i have a minor suggestion. I think that the best engineer award should get a player who has the most engineer points, not the most kills as engineer soldier. In my opinion the best engineer is the one who has built the most stuctures, who built check points from which the most players were spawn or built AT or AA guns which killed the most tanks or planes. That is their main role.
It is strange that i had 20 engineers points in scoreboard and award got someone who had 0.
You get the points if people really use the stuff you built: if someone spawns on rally point, uses ammo box, fights near sandbags, recives damage for barbed wire.
So if someone gets many engineer points it doesn’t mean that he was sitting the whole battle in the spawn and building some random stuff - he was helpful to his team. Many times much more helpful than other dude that built nothing when having an engineer.
So overall, @114748439 - this is good suggestion and you have my full support.
No, there’s already a problem where I’ve seen people sitting in the spawn spamming sandbags for engineer points and obstructing their teammates who are actually trying to play.
you get some points for building and additional points for people “using” it. In the case of sandbags being players shooting in the general vicinity of them, which is idiotic.
this guy got best engineer and ended up with 1000 more points than someone who actually contributed more than them.
Lost us the battle as well because the sandbags made it so hard to leave the spawn that it took ages to get to the objective. Lost on defense while the attackers had 0 reinforcements.
– This is our best engineer, comrade!
– So, he understands Maths, Physics, Geometry, can read blueprints, etc.?
– No idea, comrade, maybe that too. But he killed so many people, even ate a few. Good engineer!
If you would have build a rally point you would not have to climb over sandbags. 1 rally point would have been the difference between victory anyhow if you end on 0 spawns. I would 100% say that you contributed less than he did looking at the score tbh.
base it off ONLY spawn beacons, or kills made from built structures, and sure. Otherwise people will just spam sandbags or other nearly useless buildings for the win.
It is a better idea to expand the number of predefined modifiers from 4 to 8 per match, as in the LF format the awards are given out relatively unfairly due to the large number of players.
In addition to Battle Heroes, which involve just kills, I see such modifiers in the future:
Best Engineer
Best Defender (protection points)
Best Economy (least deaths)
Best Vehicle Destroyer
I just find it a little bit wrong to give experience modifiers for simple kills in a game where infantry is often used just like cannon fodder to close passages while the main fighter is doing a tactical task.
I mean, I can handle the current state of affairs because I know how the mechanics work, but I would have liked a more immersive non-killing experience.
yes and no, building spawn points is a must if you want to win, however going full minecraft and building sandbag castles just for one bombing run to blow them up at once is not useful at all.
In the case of sandbags being players shooting in the general vicinity of them, which is idiotic.
Why is it idiotic for engineers to get rewarded for the effort they put into the team? I have not seen any valid argument come out of you in regards to this other than:
there’s already a problem where I’ve seen people sitting in the spawn spamming sandbags for engineer points and obstructing their teammates who are actually trying to play.
Which is something I almost never see lol (except attic spawners which are meh). Plus you wouldn’t really get points if no one uses them. And on top of that, bags arent that hard to destroy.
this guy got best engineer and ended up with 1000 more points than someone who actually contributed more than them.
They obviously didnt contribute more because he got more score. The man was doing the engineer duties of an entire team by the looks of your screenshot. Which for defense is pretty important.
the sandbags made it so hard to leave the spawn that it took ages to get to the objective
From what I can see from stats alone, the long time it took to get to the objective was probably mostly stemming from the fact you guys were heavily reliant on 1 spawner.
If the bags were that aids (which I cant see how unless in an attic, and you only get 10 bags) then why not take 5 seconds to make a new spawner in a better spot and rake in the points yourself? Because you didnt build a single thing lol
That’s not effort. That’s exploiting the reward system.
It was the Moscow Village map, so we were spawning inside bunkers and small houses that this guy would encase in sandbags.
On the first and 4th points there was a rally point, but the rally point was again completely encased in sandbags to take ages to get out of until someone detpacked it on the 4th.
I agree with that. Until this battle, I thought best engineers are the ones with most engineer points…
Have a look at this. I got 66 engineer points (basically, I was the only one building rally points
