Hello bajtásak and fellow forumdwellers,
It is a well known fact that the early Beretta 38 automatic carbines were equipped with integrated folding bayonets, a feature that was omitted on war time produced guns as it was very resource inefficient and hardly provided any advantages.
However early trial production runs also experimented with another type of bayonet.

This Beretta 38 is equipped with an integrated Moschetto modello 91 bayonet.
These bayonets were standard issue on rifles of specialised troops and on the Beretta 1918 submachine gun, thus the idea of standardising this type of bayonet for the Beretta 38 made sense, however it ultimately lost to the Beretta 38 bayonet, which was designed specifically for the gun.
Another interesting detail is the pattern of the air intakes on the barrel shroud.
On the Beretta 38A the intakes are simple and numerous round ventilation holes, while on the prototype, the barrel shroud has longitudinal rows of oval cooling slots.

Though there is only one picture available of the Beretta 38 with the M91 bayonet, Beretta 1918 can be used to help model the gun.

Finally, let’s have a word about the in-game representation.
I do not believe that this version of the Beretta is not unique or interesting enough to come with its own standalone squad, nor would it deserve to be in the Progression Tree, considering that it’s just an experimental version. However, it could make for a fine minor event reward.
