Axis BR III - IV: Selbstlader-Karabiner Mauser M 1916

:white_check_mark: general informations:
“Selbstlader-Karabiner Mauser M 1916” was essentially a further development of the 06/08 rifle. Compared with its predecessor, it featured a more practical stock design and a noticeably shorter overall length. The 06/08 had previously been tested for use as an aviation rifle, but its size made it rather cumbersome in this role.

A shorter version was therefore developed using the same basic mechanism. It featured a half-length stock with a small protrusion around the magazine area, which made it easier to shoulder and handle. This model became known as the Mauser 10/13 Self-loading Rifle. It was tested by the military during the early years of the First World War, but the German Army ultimately decided not to adopt it for general service.

Instead, the rifle found a role with the German Air Corps and the German Ballon-und-Zeppelin-Truppe. The Air Corps officially designated it the „Fliegerkarabine 15“, while the Ballon-und-Zeppelin-Truppe adopted it under the name “Selbstlader-Karabiner Mauser M 1916”.

:white_check_mark: Gameplay Purpose:
→ The “Selbstlader-Karabiner Mauser M 1916” could be introduced into Enlisted as a unique early self-loading rifle, giving players another historically interesting semi-automatic option for German forces. Its main gameplay role would be that of a close- to medium-range semi-automatic rifle.

To maintain balance, the rifle could have a slower reload compared with later semi-automatic rifles. Its recoil and handling could also be tuned to reflect its early design, preventing it from simply outperforming more advanced weapons.

I think 25 rounds is real because magazine looks like one wich became later to the MG13

Maybe this could be Germany’s version of the Winchester M1907 rifle

I think we should just raise the bar for TT BR4 rifles say 15-25 round semi auto’s because when you enviably get lumped into a BR 5 match as BR 4 the 10 round mags don’t feel confidence inspiring against select fire rifles.

That’s because select fire rifles are over tuned not because TT BR4 rifles as they are now are too weak.

Ether way the gap Is canyon size.

And the solution isn’t powercreeping BR4 and making BR3, the most played BR, worse as a result. It’s adjusting SF rifles.

Maybe so but I play BR 4 a fair bit and 9/10 its a straight upteir to BR 5, handling could be worse or something but I think moving the mag fed guns down to BR3 with the appropriate de buffs where necessary and replacing them at BR4 with more competent rifles would be better. BR3 is awesome making semis a bit better all round would be more fun.

BR4 is actually good when… you actually get a BR4 match, maybe mostly because there are finally weapons capable of countering those Tommys with their 8.2 damage and 1000 RPM, Even without BARs, you have the MG42 and MG34 (75) to compensate, plus a solid semi-auto (ZH-29) rifle to go toe-to-toe with the low-recoil SVT40 and the 1200 RPM PPSH-41 (box). As for Japan… it’s just another day in hell; no matter how hard I try to get a BR4 match with them, I inevitably end up in BR5. Generally speaking, the Type 2 in any of its versions—really shouldn’t go beyond BR2 or BR3.

What they could do is add at least two more weapons to each faction and create a BR5–6 tier, separating BR3–4 and BR1–2 to their own; this would really motivate players too, as the current BR1–3 setup feels incredibly unfair when you end up getting bumped up to face BR4.

a very smexy rifle, I would be happy to give this rifle to one of my Volkssturm squads.

That would make a lot of sense.

What do you mean, 3BR? It’s clearly a 4BR—did you read about the magazine capacity? It holds 25 rounds.
