A second version, the Mark II Austen, was developed during 1942 and 200 were manufactured by the end of the year for trials.[10] By January 1943 Mk.II guns had undergone routine testing and an order for 200 XP MK.II guns at a cost of £5 each was placed on the 8th of February 1943 for operational testing and user reports.[11] This model made even more extensive use of diecasting; the large grip assemblies at both the front and back of the gun were produced in this way. According to Ian McCollum the Mk.II was not ready until 1946, after the end of the Second World War. Two hundred examples were built, and these were both adopted and declared obsolete in August 1946.[12]

Austen MK2
Like many weapons the MK2 was an attempt to produce guns more quickly at less cost. Would make a great br2 event weapon perhaps with a squad of a Assies. I would love to see this gun in the game as the other austen is a quality gun. It would even be a chance to improve the site on the original mk1.

Me to but the gun only came with two magazines 32 sten, 28 austen and fire 9mm rounds at 500 bpm, so how

just give it less of that cursed horizontal recoil the devs just love to give commonwealth guns

I was really hoping for that Patchett/Sterling SMG to be BR III when they first announced it. (Another cool weapon prop that was used in the original Star Wars btw) It would’ve fit perfectly in my BR III commonwealth squad, but nooo, they had to mess it up with the stats and the BR. I don’t have enough event Lanchester SMGs and I was hoping for a tech tree option that would do the job.
