Any tank balance?

Once more today I fell upon some tank that was camping like hell on the other side of the beach. No plane to kill it, and after I got into a tank myself I found out (once more) that the enemy’s one was showing red everywhere. I shot and hit it 5 times but it just did nothing. UNfortunately that clearly showed him where I was standing and he shot me once … which wrecked my own armor instantly. How on earth are we supposed to deal with those ? They slaughter infantry, destroy other tanks while staying perfectly safes. It would seem reasonable to expect that any armor that spawns on a game should be destroyable by any other tank too ! Else why even have an armored squad ?!?

Can you tell more about the enemy tank or at least the map you were playing ?

Generally this game is awfully unbalanced, but not every tank is undestroyable.

And if you wanna blame anyone for grey zone camping you can blame the developers for the new repair mechanics for tanks It’s insane to push forward if you don’t have your team supporting you so It’s better to grey zone camping if you don’t have a team and if you’re solo playing.

Wonder if Sherman crews during battle of bocage in France asked for balance against German tanks

Thats a logical fallacy.

Ppl have been camping in grey zone since release.

Yes that’s true but thanks to the stupid new rework it punishes people for pushing forward and rewards Gray zone campers.

It doesn’t reward grey zone campers, it punishes them as well because they are mostly stationary, meaning you can barrel snipe them and then HE or MG the crew as they come out to fix it.

Kind of their own fault, they said fighting tanks wasn’t as relevant and stuck with the 75mm guns when offered the 76mm Shermans.

I’ve been playing fine as a tank after the repair update. These new repair mechanics haven’t stopped me from charging towards the objective or whatever. I’m always focusing on my role as a tank. Camping is situational and subjective

Besides there is nothing wrong with camping. Both sides have their play areas

I find people who are complaining about the new repair system are the kinds of people who jump at the mere percentile of damage. The kinds of people who don’t want their tanks to take a single hit or repair after every little thing.

Most People didnt push anyway. Its moot. The few aggressive tankers are still aggressive because repairing wasnt really part of the equation.

this sounds like stuart/scott/sherman/jumbo vs tiger

people have been doing since release bro, it its due to the fact that every infantry man and his rifle has a TNT or det pac

best thing is to either smoke him out with smoke shells and nail him in the side if he try to move
or hit his barrel then his tracks and kill the crew as they try to fix it

It depends on the map and campaign. Generally the highest tier tank on both sides are at least capable of destroying one another, but the amount of clutter on the maps, coupled with effective anti tank weapons, means most tankers just roll 2 meters out of spawn and sit there until they get bombed.

Rocket launchers also tend to work, although they’re hard to use at long range of course.

I will also say this to all the other tankers out there: If you actually care about winning or supporting the team - Find some kind of angle where you can cover the objective, or at least part of it. Yes you might die a bit faster, but you’ll kill a lot more people and be a lot more useful.

At least in Normandy, not all the german tanks were Tigers and Panthers. It was a lot of StuG and Pz IV, particularly for the US. The brits had to fight a lot of german big cats, but they had the 17 pdr AT gun which performed well against them.

So yeah fighting the German Tanks with the 75 mm gun was not an easy task (just ask those poor brits about what happened at Villers-Bocage)

People already did that before. You cant blame the repair system for that.

Yes I can and thanks to this new mechanic there’s even more reason to grey zone camp especially when you’re a solo player.

Tanks combat range is beyond 50m (irl even more) so in terms of efficiency there was and is no real reason to drive to cp with an Panzer IV H unless you want to die and be less efficent.

British had a hard time against the Germans around Caen. Lost a crap load of tanks

Never said it was easy (once again, Villers-Bocage is the most famous example). Most of their tanks had the 75 mm gun (Sherman, Cromwell, churchill…) but at least they had 17 pdr on firefly and achilles and for their infantry. The US did not have 76 sherman at the very start of the Normandy campaign, so they had to rely on lightly armoured and mostly open topped TD.
