This suggestion has a couple of components. The goal is to move the AN-M2 Stinger to the USA Tech Tree, have the ammo nerfed to 100 rounds (the actual ammunition capacity of the weapon), and to replace it with a gun that has the same stats, but a different visual model. We could advocate for the T3E1 to be added to the tech tree, but the AN-M2 is more appropriate for the role, and the T3E1 is more obscure/less historically relevant. Any existing AN-M2 Stingers within players’ collections would just be swapped with the new gun, meaning there isn’t any “punishment” to implement the change, and it should overall be a net positive!
I wouldn’t be against similar weapons appearing in other tech trees too, but I don’t want to make this suggestion too obscure.
How would you like to see the T3E1 added to the game?
Tech Tree
Battle Pass
Premium
0voters
Would you like to see the implementation described by the author?
T3E1 is added to the game, replaces the existing AN-M2 Stingers in players’ collections. The weapon is statistically identical, but only 100 round magazines.
AN-M2 Stinger is added to the Allies Tech Tree.
AN-M2 Stinger magazine capacity is nerfed to 100 rounds.
The T3e1 would be a good event weapon or event squad, and I wouldn’t mind the Stinger being moved to the TT and its spot being replaced by the new thing. What I don’t like is that it’s a nerf to people who have the Stinger already, I like having a 200 round death machine and I don’t want that to change
The M1919A6 is essentially a BR 4 MG. The other tech trees have machine guns at BR 4 with 50-75 rounds with higher rates of fire, and there are two premium/battle pass BR 4 MGs with similar characteristics (DP Belt-Fed, Bren 1 100).
It is hilariously outclassed by German and Japanese BR 5 MG options that it faces.
I think the T23 machine gun is a good fit for this role. Its development began in 1941 and continued until 1944. And, what is not insignificant, it has a box magazine and not an ugly, dangling belt underneath.
The AN/M2 Stinger needs to have its ammunition capacity corrected and proper aiming devices installed.
I really like the T23E2 as well, but I wanted to cater to those who would prefer fewer or no prototypes in the tech tree. This seemed like the best compromise on that front.

that is a punishment you are replacing an event weapon with a tech tree weapon that has all the same stats but a magazine half the size.
players with the existing weapon could easily buy it with silver replacing a weapon that cannot be earned in any other way.
I am fine with the M2 Stinger being left in its current state, and as a BP, Event or Premium weapon since most people probably have four or five of them by now anyway. I have five and don’t use any of them. Just a preference, and I only use three BR 5 machine gunners, but I like the Browning 1919A6.
The Vickers K originally didn’t use the AA sights when it first announced, they were added for a very good reason.
Unless you’re willing to add the Dutch variant of the Lewis gun to the techtree, you kind of can’t have one without the other. The regular British Lewis guns weren’t set up to use the 97 round mags due to their increased height.
I mean, if you’d rather just add the same Event Vickers K to the TT, that could work too.
I just thought that people would complain about that.
Whilst this is true for specifically a 97 round version, I however wrote that statement with a regular BR III version in mind.
Currently, the Lewis Mk I is a event weapon, we should get the Lewis Mk I* (same model as the Soviet Premium) in the tech tree instead. I won’t accept a aircraft version over it.
