Allow paratroopers to walk in the gray zone area like guerillas do

now, i am not a huge fan of guerillas or paratroopers.
but, as everyone knows in real life,
paratroopers were meant to operate behind enemy lines or generally disrupt enemy key strategic locations / assets.

yet, you’re telling me, that in enlisted,
only civilians ( or… designated troopers known as guerillas ) can do that?

actual paratroopers aren’t smart enough to actually walk passed few meters?

i’d say it would compensate for the slow drop ( which i think it’s justified. )

to put it bluntly, paratroopers should be able to walk in the gray zone AFTER they have been deployed.
( as a balance measure, you can’t paradrop inside the enemy gray area zone… which it would be dumb )

and, that’s pretty much all for this suggestion.

i would love to include a possibility to chose a kit whenever you deploy on land, but gods knows how longer we have been asking for that, and yet it’s still not here.

be it as a " feature " that activates once landed.

You need to do it with friends or wasteing lot of time to prepare as guerillas if you want to carry AT weapon into gray zone
And guerillas won’t carry 3 * 12 AT ammo

they have 5 tnt blocks each.

literally not that difficult to just flank while crawling around.

the circles preventing you to reach it are more of a joke than anything.
and beside, their whole stick is also having more ammo and more tnts.

No its not, spawning inside the enemy spawn is a terrible mechanic - spawnkilling is always unfun and creates frustrating gameplay.

Also Guerillas cant use ARs, cant build rallies, dont have AT weapons and have no utility in general.

What Paratroopers actually need is that they dont drop so super close to each other, they drop in a pixel accurate line - which makes them extremely easy to shoot down, not to mention it is unrealistic and looks silly.

If this gets fixed, together with removing their bonus HP, giving them one engineer regardless of the loadout and giving them full ammo when they spawn on the ground - then they would be much more fun to play with / against.

The thing is, what you are looking for already exists and is one of the most effective and nastiest strategies in the game - if you have a coordinated team, one player drops far behind enemy lines and builds rallies, while your teammates wait for your rally to be build, so they can all spawn in as Guerillas and totally suprise attack, destroy the enemy backline.

Destroying all enemy rallies, APCs and tanks in one go usually guarantees victory.

But since this requires alot of teamwork and multiple players dedicating their squad slots to this tactic, you lose versatility in your team - thats a fair trade.

at least guerrillas need to sacrifice time to sneak past the enemy line and get behind them while paratroopers can just jump behind them while the team is occupied by playing the objective, making spawn camping and camping the next objective just before it opens all too easy.

Personally, I completely agree. I think this discussion was already going on when Para just appeared in the game - because - all Para is not just an “unexpected surprise” from the sky (which no longer works, because when you simply drop paras into game-generated corners, say in a capture zone, most often paras are either shot down before they even land, or they immediately fall into a hot spot, just like if I had used rally. So what’s the point? Now there are no exceptional flanking options. And that’s the whole point of paratroopers.

EDIT: And no one is talking about “opening” the entire map completely. You can come up with all sorts of barriers, timers, this must be the developers’ ingenuity, but you can definitely allow them to use the gray zone with certain exceptions.

Well tanks deserve it to be honest specially the super heavy tanks since this is a tank and assaulter game. Literally its becoming too Arcady and tanks are made immortal after the nerf of bombs and plane cannons so at this point they can turn it to pure infantry game since they are also made immortal specially the soviet infantry. The grayzone should be removed for many classes including tanks so they can play more aggressively right now the system for tanks encourages camping in the grayzone.

The soviet infantry are kinda not immortal. German HE spam is still very effective, and Germany’s medium range weapons are just superior and can shred right through the body armor until BRV where they only have a slight medium range advantage due to a small difference in spread and recoil.
While the body armor is a very poorly done mechanic that should either be overhauled as an equipment slot for everyone or removed, the buff would only help keep them alive at long ranges.
Also bombs and plane cannons are still VERY effective. Germany just tends to use HE in their plane autocannons which does nothing to the Soviet tanks which have well-balanced armor distribution to protect them from planes. Just the other match, my stray bomb ended up wiping out about 6 people and an APC.
Also, rocket launchers and AT grenades ignore sloped armor so you can wipe out any tank by a well-aimed panzerfaust from a few hundred meters away if you have to. While this is not a good solution, you can do it.

No they are not it takes you ages to destroy single apc or a truck with Japanese ,UK and German 20 mm literally they are nerfed to the ground same as bombs you can doge them with a tank by simply moving. Bombs are effective only against infantry and not against armor.

As I said its a tank and assaulter game literally that’s the two most powerful classes until BR V where rifleman’s become assaulters. So BR V is just Jets,Heavy tanks and Rifleman squads.

Just try using your bombs against king tiger or heavy tanks that is no the move for some reason it dose nothing to them unless its 500 kg bomb.

Also heavy machine guns on planes are made very poorly also they cant pen nothing and dont do enough damage.

Maybe aim the 20mm a bit better? It can show the hitmarkers just because the weakest fragments hit near the APC or an infantry.
Needing a 500kg bomb to eliminate any tank is just from not having enough practice. You can even wipe out a king tiger with a frontal 50kg bombing run if you just drop the bomb directly on it. I’ve had to wipe out a lot of king tigers with 50kg bombs, but I’m out of practice now.
The heaviest machine gun on german planes is the MG151, and its max penetration with AP rounds is 33mm at 10 meters. They are still very effective against unarmored targets if you hit their weakspots directly, but don’t expect it to penetrate anything but a light tank (or medium at a complete nose-dive).

Its the cannons you are hitting the apcs and planes they simply dont die cuz the pen is so poor and the damage. The standard 20 mm in this game and heavy machine guns on planes are made useless. Literally you run out of rounds when you shoot vehicles and other planes since they simply dont do enough damage. Specially with the lower BR planes you can feel this the most. Literally unarmored trucks and lightly armored apcs or tanks dont get penned like in the past in the past the Spitfire VC was amazing plane now its a joke and many other planes simply they nerfed the damage on the 20 mm and heavy machine guns way too much.

No you cant you can kill only stationary tank not a moving tank all he needs to do is move and you can even doge 250 kg bombs however they have a chance to kill you the only bombs you cant doge are the 500 kg. But even 250 kg bombs are easily avoidable by moving since they dont explode directly it takes them time to explode so you can move your tank and avoid being killed by the bomb.

they do nothing thats why no one plays the BF 109 F-2 its literally usless dont have enough ammo to kill basic planes sometimes.

The planes do a lot of damage, the APCs in the game just have 1 or 2 weakpoints that you can hit and you suffer a lot of damage and penetration fall-off.
You literally can kill any tank in the game with a direct 50kg bomb. King Tigers can’t flee from them. Even if an IS-2 somehow can, the tracks and cannon will be blown. When the IS-2’s tracks and cannons get blown, it cannot defend itself and repairing is very risky, so players have a tendency to bail.
The 20mm guns for Germany all have less penetration than the 15mm. If you aren’t dead-on with your shots directly on the weakpoint from a low strafe (like planes historically HAD to do), you probably won’t do much to an APC and you simply can’t pen ANY tank.

The 20 mm do more damage then the 15 mm thats why all use the BR I BF and no one is using the BR II BFs.

If the tank stays in one place after the bomb falls there is detonation time that they dont explode directly and you can simply move a bit and you survive the hit.

APCs in the game dont explode even from anti tank weapons they are made way too strong when it comes to HP and its hard to destroy them. But thats the game its turning way too Arcady where damage dose nothing when you come from more realistic games like post scriptum and hell let lose you start feeling how Arcady enlisted is and how here damage is reduced way too much so its just gunning and running game.

If you want to pierce heavier armor, you’ll need the MK101, BK3.7, or anything 50+mm. The 3.7 can penetrate even an IS-2 if you angle it right, but its penetration is almost nothing at an angle.
The detonation time is about 2-3 seconds, varying a bit by bomb. Maybe a t34 could escape it if it was already going full speed, but it’s almost impossible for most heavy tanks to escape the blast radius.
APCs don’t have a lot of health, they simply only get damaged if their tiny weakpoints get damaged. If you land your hits properly, they get destroyed in only 1 or 2 shots. Land them poorly and you can unload several rockets and nothing happens.

The IS -2 is well armored tank what do you mean even IS -2 with 60 mm of top armor.

Every tank can doge it unless its some very very slow tank IS-2 or King Tiger can easly doge them only the 500 kg bombs are the problem the 250 kg can also be dogged but they have bigger chance to kill you. Really bombs vs armor in this game are made very poorly. Heavy tanks are protected from everything anti tank weapons,planes anti tank guns before the jets they had it very easy until they introduced this super big bombs. So the sooner they isolate them in BR 0± the better. Really BR V turned to some action movie where its only jets heavy tanks and fully automatic weapons.

APCs weak spots are a joke in general this is not a tank it should be destroyed way way more easy then some engine hit… literally its unarmored truck…
