Since I like the P-40, and for the most part I doubt it gets used much at BR2, especially when the P-51 is available. I would like to suggest it to be dropped to BR1. I’ve seen similar suggestions made for the Soviet P-40 as well. The Hurricane at BR1 carries bigger bombs then the P-40, so other then being a little faster, I don’t think dropping the P-40 would create a balance issue.
Should the P-40 be dropped to BR1 or kept in BR2.
Yes, drop the P-40 to BR1
No, keep the P-40 at BR2

I’m under no illusion that the Dev’s would change anything even if a majority of the players voted to drop it as this request is most likely DOA the moment I click Create topic.
I’ve seen players suggest lowering the Hellcat to Battle Rating 3 before, and others pushed back, saying this would make the M10 obsolete.
This reminds me of a counterargument I can easily imagine: shifting old biplanes and slow aircraft down the BR ladder, such as moving the P-40 to BR 1, would completely ruin the low-tier air combat meta.
Why? It lacks any devastating weaponry; its 45-kilogram bombs are practically useless. With that kind of armament, this aircraft really wouldn’t be effective at BR 1.
I agree that the P-40E is weak, but Moving it to BR1 would be a bit of a power creep since no current BR1 plane has 6x12.7mm machine guns and with such great flying stats. The F2A-3 Buffalo is perfectly situated in BR1 as a slightly weaker P-40E already.
I think a better option is to give the American P-40E-1 a 500lb bomb and keep it at BR2.
In War Thunder the American P-40E-1 has three different bomb loadouts, and our version in Enlisted has the weakest:
The Soviet lend-lease P-40E-1 in Enlisted has 2x100kg, 1x250kg and nearly identical flying stats at BR2. It would be only fair to give the American version a 500lb bomb in addition to its 2x100lb bombs, but sadly that plane already exists as a Premium! So what if we give it a single 500lb bomb, a nice upgrade from 2x100lb bombs, and it would still remain unique compared to the Premium version?
I agree a better option is to give it a 500lb bomb at BR2.
But this topic’s suggestion is not power creep (unfortunately), as the soviets have a couple of stronger br1 fighters (lagg and yak-1) and the germans have the Bf109E. Only Japan is weaker with the a5m (its bombs are alright, but only 2x7mm is weak to bring down bombers).
Japan needs a Zero in BR I or Ki-43-II or Ki-44-II Hei really I dont know there is so many options for BR I Japanese aircrafts and the two ground attackers can be moved to BR I but we will wait until people grow some IQ and learn to play pilots…
