Currently all revolvers are made obsolete by any semi auto pistol, this means if the Devs ever wanted to give the Japanese or Germans a revolver they would be dead on arrival.
So I suggest:
•The following guns have their base damage increased to 8: Enfield no.2, colt new service, s&w m1917, Webley mk vi, nagant and welrod. Any revolvers added after would also have the same base damage.
The reason for the damage increase is to make revolvers viable when compared to semi auto counterparts (walther ppk and other cheap pistols). This change is also inline with current Enlisted logic because guns like the garand will have a lot less damage than their bolt action counterparts.
I see no reason why revolvers should have high damage, I would even say they should be weaker than semi-automatic pistols because the gap between the drum and the barrel greatly reduces the pressure of the powder gases in the barrel and, as a result, the energy of the bullet
It’s usually how games balance revolvers and it’s become somewhat of a trope to have revolvers be a higher damage but slower gun. Currently revolvers are useless so I just want them to be viable against low level pistols.
The Webley could get an increase on its damage if it is the 455. version, if I’m not wrong the Enfield shoots some 476. Bullet, which is weaker but 5.5 - 5,7 damage points would be justified. (After researching a bit more I found out they were actually weaker than any 45.ACP revolver, what a shame)
As for the others:
American revolvers shot the same 45.APC bullet as the M1911, I see no justification to increase their damage, just buff their RoF and shot deviation pattern. (The Colt New Service could get a rechambering buff, since it could shot the significantly stronger 357. Magnum cartridge, it was uncommon in the battlefield and more of officers stuff tho)
The Nagant technically shot the weaker 7,62x38R bullet. Compared to the TT-33’s 7,62x25 Tokarev cartridge it was significantly slower even though the bullet was heavier. It was even bad for WW2 standards for its hard trigger, but Soviets were lacking weapons so they used them anyway.
It was a mistake to add the Welrod to the game, it was designed for spies and saboteurs to silently kill enemies, not engage like in this frenetic game. It shot the 45.ACP cartridge, and it was even weaker than a regular 45. Pistol because of its supressor.
The only improvement pistols suppose over revolvers is the faster reload and a couple rounds more in the magazine (except for the FN HP, THAT’s a good pistol), I think revolvers should compensate that by having smoother recoil and being more accurate.
All of the Calibers are as follows for the revolvers Enfield No2 38/200, Webley MkVI .455 Webley, S&W and 1917 Colt .45 ACP, Nagant Revolver 7.62x38 having a few of these they’re relatively accurate in terms of damage due to the fact that revolvers release gas that diminishes the power of the bullet itself that being said the 7.62x38 tho a little bit more powerful than a .32 acp is a glorified .32 acp
This is true at the time of WW2 .357 magnum was the most powerful handgun caliber in wide circulation. I’ve said that it needs to be added the Model 27 S&W.
