All Loud on the Western Front

I think the only reason this game mode still exists and has players is purely for the rewards. If it were released as a standalone game, it would die instantly.

What do you think? The frustration level is just way too high.

yea i played for like 2 hours last night and I had an absolute blast. I thought the map would be very empty of soldiers, but it was a really awesome experience

On the positive side, as resources are already done, BR 0 -WW1 would be nice. But with normal squad mechanics plus of course weapon limitations.

Rather than post-1946 Korea or something like that, although BR 6 for prototype warfare would be fine.

totally agree on this front, there have been many WW1 games done well. Verdun was pretty good, and BF1 (wouldn’t call it WW1 as was a lot of action), but it defo is not unpopular and could actually be a cool starting point for new players as it is slower gameplay

Just realized you don’t even get silver from playing the event… alongside not counting for BP/Saboteur, you can’t even grind silver for the chests.

Isonzo by same makers (BlackMill) is actually really good.

Verdun in visually too bland, Enlisted-WW1 looks pretty much right.

The map is too monotonous, why aren’t there the Somme and Marne rivers?

if they work a bit on it (do away with some of the issues that popped up - like the artillery spam, which is a LOT (!) better now than it was at the start) and then keep this, it would be brilliant (either as BR0 or as a new camapign with its own ww1 tech tree and progression), especially if we get some early German (Pikelhaube helmets!) and early French/British, maybe even include the Eastern battlefields and give us Russians and Austrians too. If they then include more vehicles and horses/horse drawn wagons (supplies!) as well as biplanes, that would be awesome IMHO.

I always said that both the Enlisted game mechanics and the way 90% of the playerbase do play this game (charge into the machinegun fire regardless) would work well within a WW1 setting.

German trench club has been said to be in the repeating rewards after the pass is finished. And more of the helmets.

I wonder, at which point dev will remember about much lauded Enlisted historical accuracy and nerf Mondragon 10 round rifle?
Waiting for more buyers maybe?

The whole experience is frustrating. While I dabble a little in WWI history, i will only describe gameplay wise aspect. Here’s my thoughts:

  • No spawn protection (couple seconds would do), thus insta killed right after spawning or few seconds after.

  • Anti Tank rifles not respawning. I DON’T expect entire team to be conservative when it comes to resources. AT weapons are grabbed when tanks are not present and not used when the actual threat rolls out. Additionally, poor shots tend to deflect of the paper thin armor of tanks. Call it a skill issue, but provide me and other players who know where to hit with available weapons.

  • Artillery, the greatest menance. This issue, i don’t really know how to fix. Existing massive spam along with shorter respawn? Longer cooldown of artillery? Spawn protection for sure.

  • Getting the points to unlock other ‘squads’. Aside from its lone fighters aspect, it’s pretty easy to die out there. Having engineer for instance that can build sandbags and machine gun nests only to die minute or two later to a player who decided to flank and camp or getting randomly shredded with arty is just plain frustrating. Whoops you need to unlock him once again. That said, flanking and camping being a viable strategy, countering silly design of this event or perhaps immersing oneself into it is something I condone.

  • Tanks being limited by game’s engine and map design. Tanks stuck in trenches, encouraging players to greyzone.

  • Not able to see shit. Yes it’s foggy, sad and miserable, but clearly balance has not been achieved here. The intention was probably to both be able to spot rushing infantry as well as some lone wolfs, but it fails miserably at greater distances, as well as nigh invisible campers (Yes i do too camp).

  • Lone Fighters mode. I’ve seen practically every developer gaslighting players to achieve ‘It’s not possible to have more than 64 players on the server’ paradigm. Maybe not the best but good exampel to counter that claim is a game Over the top: WWI, in which 200 players are playing together in the same game; How about giving us a few bots for each squad instead of having those as a singular soldier in the attack phase?

  • The constant grind of doing the same, thats gets boring and frustrating after a while.
I don’t want to dunk on others, but it seems to me that younger players seem to have lower standards when it comes to their entertainment. I guess it’s only natural, since they have ‘less burnt out’ dopamine receptors.

  • The points you earn do no count towards sabouter event, the missions you have for battlepass do no register in this mode. You clearly do not value the time of your customers. While I admit, everyone will probably get 4 sabouters tickets in the span of the 23 days, this painfuly grindy event demanding even more playtime is a punch below the belt.

  • No comment on ‘Event Battlepass’.

Finally, after this much complaining I arrive at sad conclusion, playing this mode (mainly because i want those Mondragón rifles, since Gew41 sucks) , made me sick of Enlisted alltogether, and since i was a big spender in earlier years, I’m not so sure about giving more money to Gajin/Gajin UK. Gonna play something else.

After the alterations - especially artillery this has become doable.
It’s not actually fun, mostly because of artillery spam and campers, but I don’t hate it.

Getting the capture points is still the biggest problem - if your team dosn’t attack the objective (because they are busy camping or held back by artillery) it’s impossible to get those.
It all depends on the team.

i thought the pass would give extra quest or something but nope it literally dont have any other quest unlike the (i forgot which one) zombie pass that double your earning.

Man oh well.

Does anyone know if the points now also count towards the Saboteur event? Or has that still not been corrected?

Nope.

@Nuris_0 - Thanks for the info mate! (I really hope that this gets fixed soon).

You also need perfect luck and timing. Sometimes your teammates are capturing the point but you have no time to get there because bad stamina, arty spam forcing you to flank and snipers. Sometimes you might make it to the point only to get killed by artillery or some random enemy jumping in the trench.

Remove the objective of capturing the point from the event.

When I unlock one of the helmets do I get 1 for each campaign?

The mode is crap: it’s a battle for radio stations against allies, not for the battlefield against the enemy. Daily objectives are unreasonably high. The price progression for purchasing Battle Pass tiers is disgusting. The lack of XP conversion to Silver in this mode, despite the introduction of loot boxes, is a chronic abomination that the developers proudly demonstrate year after year.
