What you should do:
Choose US army, load as many rifle man squads possible. At least three squads.
If they are fully developed that’s 9 men per squad.
Equip all with Garand and 3 grenades/molotovs/demo packs. AP mines.
Problem solved. You should get at least 25 kills per game with a rifleman.
Plus you will hit the semi-rifle task and 4 matches task too.

Can we stop using 100 kills as Rifleman? That sucks. So much. It’s not only forcing you to use specific weapons, which is alright, but a whole ass class that’s mostly viable in BRV.

It’s beginner friendly, which I think should be encouraged if people want the game to grow (or at best not shrink). Some tasks are impossible for some players. Machine gun kills and semi-auto kills mean minimum BR2, so you’re locking out a whole class of players from those. Literally anyone can use Riflemen in any BR from day 1. You just don’t WANT to, but you easily could.
Beginner friendly? Rifleman is not a good class for 4 of 5 BRs.
It’s not about being GOOD, it’s about being POSSIBLE. Machine guns are BR2 and higher, many players haven’t unlocked them yet, and even if they do, they will have enough silver for a couple machine guns and no other BR2 gear and then just get stomped trying to fulfill the task, which isn’t fun or helpful to the team.
Everyone, from second 1 of installing the game, can play Rifleman class. I know I would be frustrated seeing the new “event” as a new player and realizing 75% of the tasks will be impossible unless i spend 4-5 hours a day playing.
I got the 100 rifleman kills in 3 games at BR2 today. It’s easy, and accessible to all players.

You are vastly overestimating the difficulty of earning silver or getting to BR2.
It’s an annoying pain in the ass. It’s forcing a specific class on people for 2-3 times as long as any other kill requiring task. A class that gets fully replaced in most squads or only exists as a single soldier.
9 man squads with enfield, winchester 1885 or mannlicher are quite strong in BR2 and fine in BR3.

I’m currently manlicking br2 with tons of riflemen, and enjoying it quite a bit. Low BR is fun for its own sake, bolt rifles are fun. Sure they’re not cool when everyone else has full autos. It’s a different game entirely. Saying that Riflemen are useless is just saying only high BRs matter. And that’s fine, if you only enjoy higher BRs where Riflemen don’t matter then have at it. But they’re not useless. My point is that every player has access to riflemen, so the task of getting x kills with riflemen can be done by any competent player, very quickly, and doesn’t require grinding BRs/weapon tiers to even begin to do it.
If someone doesn’t want to use riflemen, that’s fine. Maybe they only enjoy full auto weapons, maybe they have skill issues with aiming/accuracy at low BRs. I think my point stands. Not every player has machine guns or even semis unlocked, but every player has riflemen unlocked. People complain constantly about low skill/low level players ruining the game, or low overall player count, and then sh1t on anything that is inclusive for low level players.

I don’t play br5 (yet), but more reason why riflemen kills isn’t a bad task. It’s achievable in 1-3 battles, and if you’re br2 or higher you can also get the semi-auto kills from it (and the complete 4 battles).
I don’t understand where the problem is. Every nation has decent semi auto or bolties up until BR3.
I equiped ONE infantry squad (with one machine gunner), every one got the VG 1-5 and I managed to solve the tasks in under four matches.
For the fun part, one soldier got the Mannlicher.
Sure it can be tricky, but the prize is good.

The task was certainly annoying, mainly because there were other very specific ones, but since I completed them with Japan, I took the opportunity to level up my squads of engineers and radio operators. I put them with riflemen, and they all carried semi-automatics. The best semi-automatic for Japan in BR2, in my opinion, is the Otsu, as it has better damage, not very good sights, but overall better performance than the Hei. I completed part of the 50 kills with machine guns task with tanks and part with infantry too
