Here is a 9-man Infantry Regiment squad list for Enlisted:
Soldier Roles Explained
Rifleman — Core infantry with versatile weapons for general combat and flexibility.
Flametrooper — Specialized in close-range combat using flamethrowers, effective for clearing enemy fortifications and trenches.
Machine Gunner — Provides sustained suppressive fire to control enemy movement and support the squad.
AT Gunner — Essential for dealing with armored threats like tanks and vehicles.
Medic — Keeps the squad alive by healing and reviving teammates during combat.
Engineer — Handles fortifications, repairs, and can deploy proper equipment like mines or explosives.
Radio operator — Enables calling in artillery strikes or reinforcements, adding strategic support.
Sniper — Offers long-range precision to pick off high-value targets and provide reconnaissance.
Assaulter — Adds aggressive close-quarters combat capability, helpful in pushing objectives and clearing buildings.
Here is the Squad Lineup Order
Squad Leader (Rifleman) — A Rifleman should be placed in the first/lead slot to function as the squad coordinator and flexible pointman, ensuring command and general-purpose firepower remain upfront and central to most engagements.
Left Fire Team (Assaulter + Flametrooper) — The Assaulter follows in slot 2, with the Flametrooper in slot 3, allowing a close-quarters assault pair to advance together: the Assaulter breaches and clears, while the Flametrooper denies trenches/rooms and prevents enemies from re-occupying covered positions.
Heavy Support (Machine Gunner + AT Gunner) — The Machine Gunner in slot 4 and the AT Gunner in slot 5 provide sustained suppressive fire and anti-armor capability near the squad’s center, enabling them to cover advances and respond to vehicles or concentrated infantry.
Support & Recovery (Medic + Engineer) — The Medic is placed in slot 6, followed by the Engineer in slot 7, which allows the Medic to quickly reach wounded teammates while the Engineer can follow to repair or build fortifications.
Force Multiplier (Radio operator) — The Radio operator is positioned in slot 8 to be protected yet close enough to call in artillery or reinforcements once the squad secures a position.
Recon/Overwatch (Sniper) — The last slot (slot 9) is reserved for the Sniper, who operates from rear or elevated positions, offering long-range overwatch and target interdiction while remaining safe from immediate close-quarters threats.
Would you consider this a Well Balanced 9 Infantry man Squad that should be incorporated into Enlisted?
What I would prefer is authentic WW2 squads. So squads setup the way the actual WW2 military did.
That would show the strengths and weaknesses of the organization and doctrine of each country in WW2.
For example the Germans built their squads around their superb and unique general purpose machine guns, the MG 34 and MG 42.
Every squad had one of these and the whole squad was dedicated to supporting and protecting this MG.
The German Panzer-Grenadier and Fallschirmjäger squads had two MG per squad, doubling their fire power which made sense because they were dedicated offensive units.
All the other things you put in the squad in your post are specialist better suited to specialist squads: mortars, flame throwers etc.
In reality not every WW2 squad had a medic, although I could see a reason for every squad having a medic in Enlisted. Having full medic squads is not authentic either, and a better alternative is to have one Medic per squad even if this is not authentic because otherwise what use is there to having a medic class in Enlisted.
The German military used rifle grenades on a large scale, this is not shown in Hollywood movies and never paid much attention to in “popular” books either but the rifle grenade was a key element in German infantry squad combat.
You do realize that some people do not possess good writing skills—which makes it difficult for them to put their thoughts to paper. Furthermore, they may be self conscious in regard to this issue, and choose not to post anything at all. If AI can help these people, why not let them use it? This isn’t high school or college, so nobody is getting graded here.
The OP’s post is well organized and written. What difference does it make how it was created?
It’s a unique set up, unlike anything we currently have—with the exception of the Halloween event squad from last year (I think that’s when we got it). It’s a 5-man crew, with a few different specialties in the squad—it’s not really specialized like the rest of our squads. So yes, I am a OK with your 9-man squad suggestion; however, not everybody is going to like this setup. An alternative would be for the developers to give us either a 7-man squad or a 9-man squad and let us set it up however we want. Anything goes! Then everybody could customize a squad to their liking. That’s what I would like to see.
This breaks the forum rules; you can’t use AI to write text, and this hides other suggestions that are better than one made by AI, so it doesn’t matter if it can’t write.
So change the rules because they don’t make sense!
This doesn’t make sense either since everybody’s posts are shown in chronological order, and are available to view by everybody. Nothing is hidden, as you wrote.
It? What do you mean “it?” I spoke of people who have difficulty writing, not AI.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you just gave the perfect example as to how AI could have assisted you in writing your response in regard to “making sense.”
Really, because the one shown here (if it was written by AI), is well organized and written quite well. I have seen some posts in this forum that are written so poorly that I don’t even understand what the person is trying to say—so for these people, I think AI would be great help to them.
I still don’t understand how they get in the way if everybody has an equal opportunity to post suggestions—regardless of who (or what) wrote them. So please, explain yourself!
I’m not correcting anything—I simply have no idea who (or what) you were referring to: Are you referring to people who don’t write well as “it,” or are you referring to AI that doesn’t write well?
If it would be better for many posts, why are you “thankful” that it’s not possible? Again, this makes no sense!
OK, that’s your choice. But what you said doesn’t make any sense, so I don’t know how you can explain it anyway.
Well now, you brought another element into the argument. You’re now saying that AI posts are robotic. Previously, you were saying AI didn’t write well—according to your confirmation here. The original post here is written better than most posts I see in this forum—regardless of how it was created. I guess our standards are just different.
I think you may have misspoken, especially since you’re having a conversation with someone who doesn’t think they’re bad. Plus, when you say “nobody wants an AI post,” please realize you’re speaking for an awful lot of people without ever having spoken to them. In other words, you have no idea what other people want.
