I think the inclusion of the Soviet T-28 Model 1940 as a BR 3 vehicle would add meaningful variety to the USSR lineup while remaining historically and mechanically grounded. As a late-war refinement of the T-28 series often referred to as the T-28C. The 1940 model received extensive appliqué armor in response to its poor survivability during the Winter War. Hull frontal armor was increased from the original 30 mm to approximately 50–60 mm, with the hull sides and rear reinforced to roughly 40 mm, while the hull floor remained comparatively thin at around 20 mm, reflecting its pre-war design limitations. The turret saw similar upgrades, with 50 mm on the turret face, 40 mm on the sides and rear, and a lighter 20 mm roof, providing improved protection against early-war anti-tank weapons while still leaving the vehicle vulnerable to flanking and underbelly fire. These upgrades increased the vehicle’s combat weight to roughly 32 tonnes, reducing road speed to about 23 km/h, but significantly enhanced frontal durability compared to earlier production models. In addition to the standard 76.2 mm-armed variant, the 1940 configuration also served as the basis for an experimental offshoot known as the T-28-85 which used an 85 mm F-30 cannon, further underscoring the Model 1940’s role as a transitional platform bridging early multi-turret doctrine and later Soviet medium tank development.
The only one that interests me is the version that can carry the 85mm gun. If the original 1940 version were brought back, it would seem too repetitive. And it might be another obstacle that hinders the advancement of the player’s technology tree.
