In the bloody campaigns of Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa, American troops captured Japanese Type 99 light machine guns in significant numbers. These weapons were often pressed into service immediately by frontline units. This weapon would provide USA BR3 players with greater variety A machine gun that comes standard with a bayonet—finally a first for the US faction! So cool!
Why? Usa does not need another bren like weapon especially if it is boring copy paste. Br 3 m1918a2 is already superior and seeing captured type 99s in normandy would be weird
In all honesty, I couldn’t see it getting used with the Allies as most of the Allied MG’s I think are better, NTM, we have too many captured weapons in the game anyway.
Please, just stop it. I can understand when trophy is really needed. For example, soviet Panzerfaust because USSR didnt have their own anti-tank grenade launcher but capture tons of Panzerfaust. But trophy just for trophy? No. Just no. This one is just unacceptable
I’m going to back up everyone else on this, this is a useless copy paste. We don’t need this as we already have a boat load of other options.
As a event item? Maybe but even that’s a tall ask that shouldn’t happen. People with them would be bringing them into random matches and cause all the “historical accuracy” individuals to complain about it. So not only do you have unnecessary copy paste, but you’re also going to anger the historical accuracy people. That’s too negatives with absolutely zero positive.
In my personal opinion instead of this being an upgrade it’s a extreme downgrade, due to the above reasons.
To finish out what I’m saying, NO this has no place in the game.
One can argue it’s already a Soviet premium squad, but it’s better to make this Allies TT. No reason this was not already in the Western side of the Tech Tree.
It’s fine for non originated weapons to go to a faction based on how much they used them, but that’s what should define a situation like this. If it’s a premium it’s not the faction it came from, that automatically means if someone else gets it it should be put in the main tech tree of the creators country.
