You’re the second one to see it from this angle. That’s one of the LAD’s few strengths. But that’s irrelevant to whether it needs adjustments. I compared it to the RD44 because they have similar ammo capacity and similar roles. What I’m saying is: if you like long range, why use the LAD? I’m not trashing the gun. That’s exactly why it’s in such an awkward spot, So I shared my take on why it should be adjusted.
Best I’d do if it got a buff would be going from 6.6 damage to 6.7, as well as helping the wonky mounting of the lad. Something many weapons suffer from since the mounting mechanic is bugged or just badly set up for some weapons. Aside from that, if they didn’t do anything but fix the mounting I’d be perfectly fine. It’s easy to dump a entire mag. it’s got 150 rounds, so if you lose that soldier you still keep what’s in the magazine assuming you decide to pick it up with another soldier from that squad. I’ve had situations where I’ve burned through three to four magazines before losing my entire squad. Leading to at least a few dozen kills with one gun, so it’s not overtly underpowered or over powered It just has a really bad mounting mechanic that causes it to sink into some surfaces and fire rounds into widow frames, sandbags, etc. This is a weapon that’s best used when you’re prone as intended.
I really wish they would fix issues like that with every weapon in the game, especially MG weapons and others that actually could get a positive benefit from mounting it within a window or something else.
PPS, some German event BR2 SMGs, BR2 Thompson all are overperforming in BR2 and should move to BR3 or be nerfed ( PPS 43 and 42 should get a rate of fire nerf, BR2 Thomson should get a 20 round magazine)
690 rpm 6.6 dmg SMGs is much closer to BR3 than it is to BR2.
BR1 is an outrageous claim. ~500 RPM is standard for 30 rounders in BR1.
Also should you refer to Sten - its definitely a more potent SMG than many BR2 SMGs. Why it has 3 hit down damage despite being a 9mm gun is stupid anyways, it should get its damage corrected and be moved to BR2 or BR3.
SMG powercreep in low BR is one of the worst things that happened to the game.
This is a general-purpose machine gun with submachine gun characteristics. It is equipped with a 150-round disposable drum magazine and requires no attribute changes; it can remain at its original level.
Yes. High tier is where all bets are off and you open up the gates to hell… really if you think about it the only thing you can do for it is to just add the next most powerful thing to justify adding the next.
And what other SMG would one use? The PPSh is no better not are the PPDs. When looking at the other SMGs, or even ARs, the LAD fills a niche other Soviet SMGs don’t.
I have six Conders, but none of the LAD. I bought four Conders from the BP store and got two from an event, but don’t remember the LAD in the old BP store.
In theory, LAD is a MG and should have the highest damage of Tokarev ammo.
English community usually doesn’t mind a Soviet meme gun, so the likelihood of it being buffed is very minimal. Maybe you should to try posting it on a Russian forum, anyway.
