A few BR change suggestions + justifications

After playing the merge for a good while I have some BR changes I would like to see implemented at some point. Keep in mind that I am biased towards lowering the BR of things, as I prefer to play at the lower BRs.

I have listed these changes in order from what I am most confident about at the top, and what I think is more debatable at the bottom.

Dicker Max BR 4 → BR 3

The Dicker Max is a very niche pick in tier 4 due to its many weaknesses. I think it would be much more balanced at tier 3, where it may have even some utility. A comparable tank to the dicker max is the Chi-Ha Short Gun, which is already at tier 3.

  • Slow
  • Has very little ammo
  • Weak Armor
  • Open top
  • No separate turret
  • No machine gun

IAR 81C BR 1 → BR 2

The IAR 81C might be kinda slow, but its large payload of bombs and strong firepower make its very strong in BR 1.

  • Very good payload
  • Good firepower

M18 GMC BR 5 → BR 4

The M18 GMC may have a powerful canon and good speed, but has terrible armor. Since the M4a1 76w has the same canon and better armor at tier 4, the M18 GMC should be moved down. Giving players the option of choosing if they want to prioritize speed or armor.

  • Pathetic Armor
  • Good Speed
  • One of the best canons available to the USA currently

P38G BR 2 → BR 3

The P38G is a monster at BR 2 due to its strong arnament and speed.

  • Good speed
  • Good climbing ability
  • Good rockets
  • Very good canons

EDIT: After taking a good look at the planes available in BR 3, I no longer agree with this change.

MKB 42 BR 5 → BR 4

The MKB is essentially forgotten at BR 5 thanks to its pairing with the STG44. It is only useful for a few games as german players make their way towards the STG44. It would useful in BR4, though it may need a nerf before the change is made.

15cm Pz.W.42 (panzerwerfer) BR 4 → BR 3

The panzerwerfer has the potential to be very useful in specific situations, but its weaknesses make it another tough choice at tier 4. I think its slow speed, paper thin armor, and lack of any kind of canon qualify it for tier 3.

  • Very powerful rockets
  • Mediocre amount of rockets
  • slow
  • no canon
  • Bare minimum armor

OVP 1918 BR 2 → BR 1

The OVP is completely useless in BR 2 now that it has to compete with the likes of the MP40, Beretta M38 and even FNAB for use. It is a worse Owen gun and really has no place in BR 2.

PPD 1944 BR 4 → BR 3

This is a more controversial pick, but I think the slow fire rate of the PPD 1944 makes it bad enough at BR 4 to qualify it for BR 3. This would make it the only soviet drum mag smg at BR 3. A comparable justification would be the FNAB-43 at BR2, it has a large mag for germany but its low fire rate keeps it in BR 2.

  • A little over half the fire rate of PPSH/PPD alternatives

Type 1 SMG BR 3 → BR 2

The type 1 SMG is completely outclassed in BR 3 by the SIG 1920, and is much more comparable to the MP28 extended in BR 2. From what I can tell the stats between the MP 28 extended and type 1 SMG are very similar, making the type 1 SMG fit better in BR 2.

  • More recoil than similar Japanese smgs
  • Large mag
  • Below average rate of fire

Conclusion

I think there is still some things that should be moved around in the BR tiers. What do you think? Are there things I have missed or things you disagree with?

wouldn’t mind p38g in br3, but for that to happen us must be able to equip 500lbs in the p40.
imo the real problem of the p38g is getting immediate air spawn in pacific battles.
for now br 1 and 2 make no difference, but indeed iar 81c is too good for br1.
for the rest i don’t care hehe.

I agree to all, surprisingly.

Even the first drum ppd. Wouldn’t feel too extreme at br3, and would give back an old Moscow campaign feel.

Just to clarify, the ppd 1944 I referenced is not the first ppd you unlock, it is one of the premium ones.

The game itself just full of iditos from worldwide. im just lazy to play well as sports.

i agree it.Dicker Max is no longer of any use in Br4 now

Ooooh.

Wait, that’s br4??? Yeah it’s a crime that it’s so high br…

Still, I wouldn’t mind for the first regular tech tree drum Soviet smg, to be tier 3 either at this point.

I cant remember where everything is placed atm (christmas break/enlisted break), but initially i thought IARC-81 at br 1 was odd.

Something changed my mind though, cant remember exactly what it is atm, but something to do with all nations had a very decent br 1 pick and the IAR isnt the most agile. I mostly play BR 2 and dont pick it at all…so…

How does it make sense to move a BR1 plane to BR2 or a BR5 MkB to BR4 when there are only two queues, BR1-2-3 and BR3-4-5?
The matching queues do not change.

2 queues is what makes BR III interesting to play. Everything else can get boring

If you want it to be that interesting, you could choose to take br 3 gear to another queue (uptier yourself)

Best to have choice over no choice

Personally, I like fighting a little bit of everything. I like not knowing what the next match has in store for me. Kar98k’s? MG 42’s? Puma’s? Tiger’s? Insert low tier Jap thing here? Insert high tier Jap thing here?
I don’t know! I have to load into a match and figure it out via map kill feed! It’s great and it keeps the game fresh and enjoyable. No one wants to fight the same exact thing over and over and over and over again. Well, except bot farmers, but those aren’t people with opinions I value

So you can stick to your known, and I can keep my unknown. Sound fair to everyone? Sounds fair to me. Honestly this really is best case scenario as far as a BR system goes. All my favorite guns of the war in one BR, and it’s my favorite BR

After 3 years Br 3 is no different than how it was before practically. Im bored of that. Alot of my favourite stuff is in BR 3 also…

How can you be bored of not knowing whether or not your team will get curbstomped or if your team will steamroll?

it’s likely up there for 2 reasons:
it’s a berlin squad
and it has a drum

Stomping or doing the stomping rarely has much to do with gear. But even so, nice to know theres no handy caps.

but If i want to enjoy doing a casual game in Panzer II for example, last thing I want to do is see nothing but T-34s and KV-1s…even if they are noobs. ]

Maybe you want to enjoy your T-34 or KV-1 but get nothing but Tiger 2s…

thats boring. If thats what I want to see Ill uptier myself.

otherwise Id prefer a guaranteed balanced oponent (as much as possible) So i can pick whatever I like and know I will have a good time in it.

Oh so you just care about armor in an infantry game. Gotcha
