.30-06 Thompson Event Weapon (Yes, That One)

This gun is really making the rounds online, due to it’s presence in the upcoming Rock Island Auction:

Enlisted is in a unique position to add a weapon that is within the internet zeitgeist, and actually have good context to add it to the game as an event weapon. I’m sure most of us have seen the video Rock Island Auction themselves posted about the weapon, and even Brandon Herrera has just uploaded a video showing it off in-person.Connect it to some event related to Thompson or Auto Ordnance within the coming months, and people would flock to get their hands on it in-game. The only issue is we are uncertain of the cyclic rate, but I think an assumption of ~500-600 RPM would be fair, considering the likely context of this weapon probably intended to compete with the BAR when it was developed in 1942/43.

If we ever see any sort of documentation regarding an actual rate of fire (assuming it even functioned), we can always change it later. If someone with more information on the inner-workings of the gun (bolt mass, recoil spring etc) has a more educated guess on the RoF than mine, please educate me/us.

Would you like to see the Thompson (.30-06) added to Enlisted?

Nah, captured BAR, take it or leave it.

Peak idea though, my only suggestion is I’d recommend adding something to polls like this to differentiate between if it should be an event/premium squad, or a standalone event/battle pass gun.

Quickly put this image together to showcase the weapon on both sides.

It is blowback action, I assume?
Reminds me of the time Shpagin (The PPSh guy) tried to make a blowback assault rifle…
This is like that, but taken to the next level lol

What’s ungly about the weapon? It looks quite elegant.

Would be quite fun to say “yeah, I got my whole Assaulter squad outfitted with Thompsons in BR V” and for that to be more literal than it is now.

Does this weapon fire from an open bolt, like machine guns? Just curious.

Yeah it is open bolt Brandon made a video about it , and he said that it was open bolt.

What does this even mean? He’s suggesting it for u.s. which has B.A.R.s already. Why would we need a captured BAR for the u.s.? Lol

Let’s go, Brandon!

I was joking about the newest BAR being the captured M1918s for Japan.

Oh, lol, i get it now

I recognize the gun a while back it used to be owned by this guy (not the channel but the dude holding it)

Tho he expressly stated that he didn’t shoot the gun due to just how ghetto the design was (which is a fair reason) and didn’t want to destroy the only prototype to exist

Good reason we never went above like maybe .223 even with open bolts those things cannot handle high chamber pressures

looks interesting and unique (even if this is another Thompson) - voted for yes
