Currently, playing as a defender is a completely thankless task, depending on the map you enter, and the faction you face, the outcome of the match is already decided before the first shot, a point that catches my attention, and that complicates the task immensely of defending an area, and the total inefficiency of the engineers’ defensive constructions, in addition to being a class of operators completely forgotten by the developers and with immense potential, one of the updates that would be of great help in making the defense task a little less difficult ungrateful, it would be the review of damage to defensive structures, such as sandbag and barbed wire barriers, which are currently extremely fragile, with just one fragmentation grenade being enough to destroy an entire fortified area, in addition to the addition of new intensities. of fortifications, such as dragon teeth and explosive reloading box
Another GuardianReaper disciple.
Do you guys all hang out in one sad discord channel and organize to spam the forums to demand nonsensical changes to the game?
It’s exhausting.
Pretty sure he said somewhere in forum, there is about 35 of them, so 33 to go
Has just occurred to me, if 35 of them and 1 guardianreaper, makes 36, so they are a sect?
36 chambers of whining engineers
stage 2 complete
Send forward, the next disciple, tell him to ask for indestructible sand bags and barbwire.
So ignore this post and move on to the next one.
Not quite. Perhaps build a group with the friends you play with and once you understand the benefits of your friends’ playstyles, then Defense! or even offense wouldn’t be an issue if you know when to time certain pushes and use the map to your advantage. Also getting the way your opponents play is useful as well as you will repeatedly run into them from time to time.
I appreciate your point and philosophically agree. That said, if people post suggestions to change the game in a way that I feel will hurt the game, I (currently) like to respond. This is particularly true if it’s the same person who’s been posting bad ideas for months or years. Or that person’s disciples.
If I strongly disagree with a suggestion then I will respond (if I have time). Otherwise, the dev’s may get led down a path to kill the game in an effort to please 3% of the player-base (random estimate on my part).
Defenders deserve some time to prepare and regroup.
Its extremely easy for the attacking team to “snowball push” through all the objectives, they can reach the objective sometimes fast enough so that are often the very first to reach it.
I don’t disagree with this. If this is what any of the flurry of “defense” posts were about in the past few days, I’d likely have only hit the like button.
I suggest they use a bigger/distance between area of the maps, space stuff out,
with rally’s/trucks on such small areas of engagement,
most of the time i don’t even use them, just as easy for me to walk/jog the 100 meters.
Need a significant distance between objectives, 250meters or greater, at least
With most adapted to zerging, seems only way to slow it down, so people can defend,
as they like to play one army that just so happens have to defend most maps.
It’s okay. The game itself is nonsensical enough.
I don’t konw how a harder (or unbreakable) sandbag would kill this game, I’m not for or against the idea, but rather getting used to and numb to the current gameplay .Constantly spawn, spray lead, and die within two minutes or get on a attacker, drop all payload, crash. That’s how you defend in Enlisted. And according to the random guy on forum, most of the player love this kind of gameplay and it’s won’t hurt the game.
yes that what happens when you know the game, and there’s no new stuff, or just reduced to playing certain maps
Me?
Yes i def random, and np with that.
Well it seems most do as they do it?
This is why
High lvl people with maxed out everything, event, max people, just zerg each other to get most points, before there other team mates get them all
is why i hate playing in a zerg game, i am not going to get no XP, as game be over in 6.46 mins, if i am on the zerg side, but if i playing against a zerg rush, iam getting more xp, and it still over in 6mins etc
And i take SS before and after every game, i can show you hundreds all less than 7 mins,
this how i say that others love this type of game play, i don’t, i have just adapted, and play if a slow, or fast game, either way.
Also i have played my time as Germans defending, and find it pretty off one could complain about this?
AS someone mention, how can you complain about defending when you have the best gear sort of thing.
Oh and if they didn’t just play one faction, they wouldn’t be defending all the time.
I may agree with GuardianReaper philosophies but not exactly his disciple I’m not in his discord I just agree with his philosophies
You might want to brush up on your defense tactics and look at @guardianreaper0 stuff to give you a better idea of what defenses are needed and giving the defenders an explosives box they can reload will not end well
And I think this will be a little bit more practical for the defenders so matches don’t end so quickly
Just an idea for when it comes to attackers capturing objectives - Suggestions - Enlisted
I am not a discipule, but I am a defensive player and I will keep saying, defenders need more love in certain maps and you won’t stop us to request, because if a dude make a suggestion about a mobile rally and they added the APC, I hope someday, they bring us the defenses updates
It took me a while to agree defenders have a slight advantage all things being equal simply because they have no tickets. The moment the attackers think about knocking defender rallies as a primary strategy; now the defenders are at massive disadvantage
Just sharing a thought
Fortifications don’t really mean much, if at all.
As a defender, you are better incentivized to be as aggressive as possilbe, and keep the enemy as far back as your grey zone extends.
Engineer: For the next 5 minutes iam gonna fortify the point and make it like Alcatraz
1 Radio dude: Yea i just press the delete button
100%
They DO listen, but it takes numbers of people bringing it up to get them to really consider it.
All we can do is keep bringing it up, despite what the run-and-gun players try to disrupt it with.
After all, look how many players are being lost to HLL. A fair number out of the Enlisted club I’m in are switching to it, BECAUSE of the slower, more strategic gameplay. I hope that Enlisted takes note of this and learns what needs to be adjusted.
Funny stuff. Now those who don’t agree to massive changes like gutting or eliminating explosive packs, making only Engineers able to cut wire, making it impossible to build two barbed wires in a row (not lengthwise), etc, etc are “run-and-gun players.”
How does disagreeing with many of your ideas make someone a “run-and-gun player?”
I’ll tell you how: It doesn’t!
