Is there any file I can gain access to that can manipulate my render distance to make it higher?
I have a 4050 and its so painful not being able to see buildings from so near in a plane, this makes CAS USELESS.
I don’t think people should get such advantage by having better computer specs.
It’s not just PC, but Series X also. It’s not cool that buildings, vehicles, and infantry are not visible at a further range. Sometimes I like to circle the battlefield while observing the ground and looking for a premium target… But the fact that everything disappears after a certain distance, is lame.
You completely missed my point. This is not a discussion about whether console can see far or not. I am saying that having render distance being adjustable will bring advantage to those people who have high spec device.
yeah but on the other end 175 meters (i feel this is the muber idk the actual number) of rendering distance is straight from 2012
An exception to planes should be fine.
Just pure laziness
Look at what Berlin LOD looks like in 2021.
And Now.
Buildings LOD are in a complete mess.
Now, it’s SUPER common to see windows simply not showing at all at a slight furthur distance.
Even tank sights got destroyed by poor LOD.
My 7 years old GTX1080 can run this game at 2K 60fps, high/ultra settings while using only 100 watts of TDP.
Only lower graphics settings/LOD can get more unbalanced that bushes no longer renders.
You said infantry exposed themselves even hiding behind the bush.
But the bushes that behind the soldier still renders.
So this is just a bug.
First of all, it is already adjustable in the settings menu, but the max value is just very low. Secondly if your computer isn’t very good then you can lower other graphics settings to balance out larger render distances, you don’t need things like advanced shadows and better lighting or higher resolution textures, you can lower that stuff in exchange for better render distance and keep frame rates playable.
Also benefits from better hardware are inherent to online games, you can’t really eliminate them. It’s already far easier to aim and target players with a mouse over a controller, it’s also easier to aim when you have a good frame rate like 100fps+ rather than 20fps. The game cannot be built with the lowest common denominator in mind otherwise we’d have to worry about how it runs on extremely old hardware.
I also think that the draw distance issues could be resolved without too much impact to frame rate anyway, because it’s not so much high quality art assets we care about, it’s just about being able to visually spot things like tanks. It doesn’t need to use an extremely high quality model at that range, even a basic dark coloured square would do, as long as it represents the position of the tank accurately. These games have LOD systems that allow simpler models to be used from further away. The primary issue isn’t graphics quality, it’s that units literally become invisible past a certain range.
I completely agree with this, HOWEVER I think an exception for planes is completely fine, CAS is completely useless rn, the first early planes with only MGs are good for dogfights only even tho they are completely fine for killing infantry.
Just go play the game, or you are cheating to hide all grass and smaller bushes.
Only very few bushes, and trees are rendered in far distance. Most tall grass and smaller bushes like they are at, are not rendered at all
And why not? If someone wants to get better quality, then they will do so. If you buy a cheap and almost useless PC then that is on you for not upgrading it. Thats the same idea buying a new console… to complain and say that someone is getting an advantage, it is more like it is your fault that you have disadvantaged yourself. The tech is out there and it is up to you to obtain it. Thats like a 3rd world country complaining that a modern one shouldn’t be allowed to have an advantage. Like someone else said, it is the same issue on console. Render should be as far as you want/realistically rendered quality can be. Meaning, you can see a mile away with naked eye, but its not like your gonna see someone walking around. You will however be able to at least see buildings and large details.
Now, that should be a detail that everyone has to do. nobody should be able to take off bushes and manipulate the gameplay like that.
