I’ve been playing this campaign since it came out, and it was maybe a little unbalanced for the Japanese at first. Now its absolutely painful to play the Allies. I’ve only won one game in the last 4-5 days and only lost one game where is was even close. All the other games the Allies got totally slaughtered. Games lasted maybe 5 minutes. What is going on? It’s awful
because players either already grinded the allies and moved to the japan side,
others do not like the maps or vehicles, ( or having to grind the same stuff again for the third time )
and the ones that remain are rather inexperienced or the ones good that are left, can’t pull on their own with just bots and inexperienced players.
therefore, the only way to play and might have some chances to win, is through playing with friends or groups/squads in the discord.
coordination might grant you victory.
Get yourself a squad
Wait for after the conversion. There will be lots of allied players then (since they will be mixed in 3 campaigns).
Or do it the easy way and play in a stack. Stacks always win the day, unless facing other stacks.
Until the campaign merge happens wait for about 6 days until the American paratroopers for the pacific are unlocked.
It can pretty god aweful at times. Had a few rounds where the allies had lost 200 tickets in the time it took me to run around the beach and put up a rally.
It was insane. Bots or newbies just tunneling into machine gun kill zones. Game was over so fast.
It was like this after dev buff japanese weapon, ticket and capture time several months ago.
Cuz it’s another dead campaign.
For me it’s Because there is no reward worth the pain.
And since I will be able to get Johnson lmg or what ever once progression rework is a thing, why bother now.
I’d attribute some of the struggles to population, though my run through last night it was 2 to 1 real players in favor of the Allies ( NA Server, prime time). The other portion is lack of communication and coordination.
Thr Allied teams that win , usually have a good combined arms approach when attacking. However I see none of that really right now.
Good rally setup from them, but rare amounts of Arty support and NO smoke whatsoever.
Playing alone without comms I watched the Japanese side setup defence in depth while the Allied units ran headfirst into it.
Yet when we attqcked we used smoke Arty, smoke grenades. Ect.
And they were not newbies to the campaign. Many high tier weapons and squads were in play.
The pacific has always required a lot more than pushing the point. You actuallly have to think a bit about what you are doing.
I used to have good teams like that. Somebody would call in a good air raid, flametroopers and assaulters would push the cap and then the rest of the squads would come and cap the point. Then when we were on defense engineers would build rally points, sandbags, barbwire, and ammo boxes.
Now its just noobs and bots.
Glad to see you are back
Hope you’ll stay a while, your posts are always insightful.
This morning I actually started building stuff on the next point because I knew we would lose the current point. Didn’t matter, they had already pushed the next point before the current one was any where near capped. They killed me long before I could get anything good built.
That is why I sometimes leave battles early. I try to stay with most battles win or loose in games but sometimes its not worth it.
On another note, while Pacific allies seem away atm, Normandy no longer feels like a chore for them.
There seem to be allies here again, which I’m glad about. Allies stuff in Normandy is genuinely fun to use, but so are axis. So many toys for both sides. Now that matches are a bit more even, it’s way, way funnier.
And that’s coming from me who used to avoid Normandy at all costs.
(I can drive my Chaffee again, God I missed it!!!)
Good points everyone. Enjoying the discussions
Chaffe is my favorite tank in War thunder. Its gun and speed are so nice.
The problem of pacific allaies is, if there is no sweetlord in their team indipendentaly of how much strong is japanese team
- they dont play
- they dont defend
- dont attack
- dont cap
- dont place bomb
they dont do nothing else than stay in the back spam tank, use sniper squad and the must scummy thing ever, hide all their squad in passive in some pit and wait japanese player for kill them
Ive been on and off back for a bit now getting a feel for the changes and such.
I rarely post without having at least some personal insight to what I’m talking about.
I have not failed while playing either side and that is more of a knowledge thing because the maps are memorized for me and i know what to do where.
Japan before I took my break wqs unplayable even as a 4 stack because it was always 4 vs 10.
I’m good, but not that good lol.
The scenarios are merely reverted at the moment. But it’s possible to easily succeed IF you play allies in a stack of 3 or 4 guys.
I strongly suspect that the campaign merge will just doom Japan again, thought. Since devs remove the possibility of choosing which campaigns/maps players want to play, anyone choosing USA faction might end up either in Normandy, Tunisia, or Pacific. Since USA has many, much more toys than Japan, once they can use anything, choosing between Japan or USA will probably be a no brainer…
We will see I suppose. I’m against weapon based mm, as I doubt it will solve any issues (newcomers protection) and will probably handicap some factions relying on different lvl equipment to compete. Not being able to choose war theaters is also really sad to me.
