I didnt said its a minus, i just stated it has lower ROF.
I guess a lot of people simply want this gun to be in the campaign and I can perfectly understand them. But to call it a “fantasy weapon” is rather far fetched and apparently the devs needed/wanted something to counter the AVT-40.
Even Red Orchestra 2 Heroes of Stalingrad had the MKb in it and the games developers were extremely proud of it’s historical accuracy - right to the way how german or soviet soldiers held their rifles while sprinting according to the ways they got trained back then. That being said it was so hard to unlock the MKb in that game that you truly only saw a few.
I’m not sure why you’re so fixated on sources. First the lack of sources doesn’t automatically mean that it wasn’t there and second you could always use reasoning. The MKb was produced in 1942 (8200 total if you count in the few Walther made versions) and the battle of Stalingrad took place from August ´42 to February ´43.
Why are you so extremely sceptical towards the MKb being used in Stalingrad when it perfectly matches the timeframe as well as being the most important battle for the german army around that time? Just because you haven’t been presented sources yet?
Historical accuracy has long sense been tossed aside. Fedorov in 1945, Jumbos, M2s, MKBs in Moscow, T50s. If this is seriously an issue than this isnt the game for you. Most of us dont like it but have accepted it as this is what the game is.
Well said, both sides lost traces of a lot of people, events and equipment during that time.
However,
As early as in Roman Law, the concept has been the same: The burden of proof is always on the person who brings a claim in a dispute.
That’s why when the devs add a weapon like this, I would be very curious to see their proof/reasoning, or from some users in this thread who also make claims about “tested in small numbers” and then just disappear or start commenting random stuff.
Once again, I understand creative liberties and balance requirements when they are needed, but in this case I see no reason for either.
Gold order “testing” weapon would be totally fine by me.
It’s just a shame that the Stalingrad battle I care so much about (if you’re on Reddit/enlistedgame you might have seen my 3 virtual tours of the city), might just soon come down to majority of German soldiers decked out with MKbs for no apparent reason.
Fedorov - yet to see a single source even remotely supporting the claim of it being in Berlin.
And as far as balancing goes, once again, I see no reason to give the Russians a very good and basically fantasy weapon, could’ve just ended with equally good PPSh for both sides and call it a day.
Yeah, it’s a shame. Don’t forget AK prototype in Berlin which wasn’t mass produced at all.
The game started off great, Mosins and K98s, PPDs and MP-38s, got me interested and invested, and then slowly but surely we’re moving towards the BF & CoD worlds of holo sights and plausible stuff.
There are so many glaring issues with historical accuracy as a reason to remove stuff its a waste of time at this point
I despise the addition of Fedorov to Berlin, no need to put words in my mouth.
Im simply saying your argument can be used on every campaign against multiple weapons. To call out just one doesnt seem right
However by that token we have to also take into consideration, extrapolating what could have occurred at that time period.
This was quite possibly the most fought over piece of land in history in terms of men and material consumed.
Every conceivable weapon and person from both sides was fed into that city. So if we wanted to extrapolate the possibilities of what could have been sent, it would fall within the realm of reason to be there.
Again we need to accept that there is artistic liberties taken to give us gameplay.
No one is forcing you to use it. And there are 4 other campaigns that allow the same liberties as this one for you to play.
Again, the Die is cast.
It can, indeed.
The MKb example is possibly just glaring to me as I’ve been playing Stalingrad exclusively since it launched and it just feels disappointing to see so many MKbs in this iconic battle: it’s both very good yet more than likely it wasn’t even there.
Thats how Ive always felt about Berlin and now more than ever with Fedorovs and FG42s everywhere. Been an issue for awhile but It seems Stalingrad didn’t hold true to the bolt actions over full auto idea
If more ppl could think like you instead of screaming for heresy…
Yeah I like your train of thought here, we will probably never know what exactly happened during that hell on earth, it’s not outside of potential scenarios.
The purpose of my original question was also to hopefully learn something I don’t know either about history or ingame balance, but it seems that it’s just games being games, accept it or don’t buy it, as a famous saying goes.
Just hoping the campaign doesn’t turn completely into STGrad in a month’s time.
I play devils advocate a lot on here, only because I used to work for a game company as a contractor, so I see both sides of the coin.
Coupled with being a history and firearm nut, this is one of the few forums where I can contribute in a meaningful way.
We have to accept somethings in order to have the game be fun. Enlisted is a fair blend of reality and 'what if ’ which is why I love it so much.
Plus, the bolt play in this game is amazing. I wouldn’t worry too much on MkBs. I went up against advanced Soviet players on my very first match, and with 2 squads all bolts, I got #1 and almost 400k xp. All that time I took refining my BA craft in the other 4 campaigns really paid off.
I’ve kept my “lowly” riflemen squads, and they use a blend of k98 and mannlicher. I storm buildings with my bolt actions, I don’t even need smgs!
Eheheh my stubbornness in playing mostly bolties in other campaigns is truly paying off now, it’s like I’m a fully trained bolty user!
I demand the game to be more realistic and true to life. Remove the Mkb 42 from Stalingrad first of all. Then remove the ability to swap to other teammates in the squad. It’s a tactical squad based after all, if you are THE squad, you aren’t actually playing a squad based shooter do you? My final improvement is no respawns. If you die in-game, I DEMAND a Gaijin employee shows up to your house and kills you (obviously with the exact method you died ingame, hope you didn’t get blown up or your family’s house is gone)! It should be a historically accurate videogame afterall? If you aren’t paralised by fear by the slightest chance of you dieing then it’s not really realistic isn’t it?
Good, can’t wait till I hear the stuka coming for me.
Why is the T-5O in Moscow ? They were present at Leningrad not in the battle of Moscow and only in a small number, some 500
