The AI were already bad enough, but now they suffer from ridiculously slow reaction times.
You can literally run in a room full of AI bots and all they do is look at you for about 3 seconds before they even react ! Even a player with incredibly slow reactions would be capable of firing a weapon at an enemy who runs in front of them and starts killing everyone else, but the AI are so slow they just watch while everyone around them is slaughtered.
There are so many other issues with the AI in this game, but their reaction time is painful to witness - whether itâs your own squad or walking into a room full of enemy bots and being able to easily kill them all without a single one of them firing back.
Their accuracy is also terrible - I can stand still in front of an AI bot and all they do is fire multiple times - miss every shot - run forward - fire & still miss - run forward again - reload while standing right in front of me - and then maybe eventually shoot me if I stand still for long enough.
I may add some footage later, but Iâm sure the devs are well aware of all this.
PLEASE at least improve their reaction times so they can respond to danger rather than just going âDERRRRRPâ while a player massacres them one by one.
trick is to go very close to them.
Then they will unleash superhuman ninjaturtles melee action upon you.
I can agree with them being stupid under fire, they quite literally will run into shooting lanes one by one and die.
Iâd like both ally and enemy bots to break up and get to cover once under lethal or suppressing fire. If out in the open, I want them to spread apart some and lay down covering fire in different stances. More fluidity in their movements and reaction times.
If they could get that down then thereâd be better reason to lessen bot aim assist and add the usual penalties from taking hits: weapon sway, a little added recoil, etc. unrelated but they should add voice lines for everyone when under fire and taking hits; adds to atmosphere
Cod 1 (2003) bots were better lol.
they are made that way to cater to lowest skill player denominator. that way even shit players can get some kills. if they are made better you will then have rage threads about various cheaters with aimbots or unnatural reaction times or esp etc.
Thatâs a terrible decision.
The only way for players to get better, is to make the game challenging.
Itâs like the saying âIf youâre the smartest person in the room, then youâre in the wrong room.â
The best way for newer players to learn, is by playing against people and A.I. that are equal or greater than the playerâs skillset.
DF could create a practice range that has active A.I. enemy, and allow players to practice fighting there. (Not just static targets).
But when it comes to matches, everybody needs a challenge or the game quality becomes absurd (boring/farmfest/dead).
If the issue is low skilled players who need accommodations⌠then perhaps create a seperate lobby for players who have completed less than 100 matches (this could be added to each campaign). Where all of these players will be matched up amongst each other, and if thereâs not enough human players⌠then they can play against nerfed bots (on their own time).
Experienced players would greatly appreciate more challenging A.I. enemy, and more competent A.I. squadmates who wonât run out into the open and die one-by-one.
why dont people realise good ai work both ways ? lets say we had good ai, this also would benefit to new players since their bots too will kill more and die less.
search this forum for cheats, aimbot, wallhack⌠over 80% of those reports are cause of bots doing bot things.
while that is trueâŚpeople dont like losing. And in todays society âthere are no points for second placeâ has been replaced by âgood job, heres a medal for participationâ.
+1 for newbie lobbies
Well I would, but itâs important to take note of the fact that anybody who reports cheating on the forum, the topic is regularly flagged for deletion, and instructions are given to report cheaters to the admin.
Wanna test out my theory?
Hereâs an example of cheating, recorded from one of my own matches.
Is this video allowed to be on the forum?
Or will this video be deleted?
They are not made that way on purpose, the AI is just bad. Improvements like adding aggressiveness levels to the decision tree, making the actor get out of the playerâs way when constructing engineer buildable, and the most recent, the AI making the actor seek cover were all suggested by members in the Enlisted community. Itâs great that the dev listen to suggestions from the forum, but it shows that these features were never thought of at the design table meaning itâs not intentional.
The AI were god-tier before, allowing the actors to shoot through bush and snap to a player upon ADS near the actor, now itâs dumb down way too much to the point where they seem stupid and robot-like, and killing them is boring.
that sure does look like someone aiming through the wall to me. Thanks for the screenshots
Thatâs why I once proposed dynamic AI difficulty. So good players face deadly AI and bad players face bad AI.
But it wasnât very popular.
Fighting against current bots is really boring untill their RNG brain decides to onetap you.
I donât mind ai being better, but
before it was a complete joke when the A.I would react to you and do instant 180âs, boring.
and if you know anything about wallhacks, then you would know that they just enable you to see through walls, not shoot through them. this game doesnt have wallbang mechanism for concrete and metal doors as far as i know.
this could be explained with 2 explanations and @Forlorn_Squad has given you explanation for first one. this is simple shit game mechanism with clipping. that soldier can probably see through wall and shoot cause this is game mechanism and it is well known bug. people used this to abuse sandbag and HMG to be invulnerable.
and second explanation is just bad server desync, that player could have entered the room but you didnt get exact situation from the server on time.
it was made that way on purpose. AI was more aggressive before and could snipe you on longer ranges, through bushes, it would kill you immediately if you came closer to them etc⌠then people came to forum to complain about cheaters killing them through bushes, players/bots instantly turning around and killing them even though they didnt see them etc.
good times, casually flying at ~500m altitude to resupply bombs.
Only to get sniped out of cockpit by AI.
So itâs a desinc.
we canât know for sure.
I guess itâs a desync problem (see robihrâs comment).
But it can as well be the problem of guns clipping thru objects.
(Btw, try to approach the metal pin/bollard in practice and see the result for yourself. You can hit targets while shooting through it).
