Why 6 smoke artillery share same CD time with 19 HE artillery?

The cooldown time of smoke artillery in the game is too long compared to its effect. Waiting two minutes just to call for six rounds of smoke? Ridiculous.
Increase the amount of smoke sehll and makes the cooldown half, or restore the smoke duration to the previous 60s (It’s curently 30s by the way).

Smole arty need a serious buff right now
There is no advantage of calling smoke arty over regular arty.
I agree that there should be more smoke shells for denser smoke

I often asked for a separate timer for smoke arty, because since the arty nerf (longer timer) smoke arty is a waste of a call…

A furry staff member told me: “the smoke shells use the same arty canons so it’s justified”…

And im sure that the same artillery is busy launching those 50kg bombs and the bombers are just there as a cover up to make the enemy believe those bombs come from the bomber.

And the same battery of artillery guns are launching the rocket strikes. (dont question how a gun can fire 75mm HE shells AND 158mm rockets at the same time, its top sekret).

No that’s not true, the artillery actually fires the whole bombers.

while at it could give bombers a separate CD too.

Its most of time nothing but waste of time.
Could waste it on its own CD.

That’s the same logic of having a thompson drum mag loaded with blanks be at BR5 because “it uses the same gun” lol

just place it in the ammo box slot, so it will be a support thing

I would say that it should be complely separated from planes/rockets/HE arty, with separate timer and possibility to drop it simultaneously to arty - right now getting even the chance to pop smoke is too uncertain for such a situational and timing relevant feature.

On the other hand, there should be a team cooldown of at least 5-10 mins and personal cooldown of 10-15 mins, so the battlefield is not covered by smoke.

We used to be able to call those in 30 seconds intervals (30 seconds after the last shell hit the ground, so make that 1 minute)

AND EVEN THEN ppl did not use it :sweat_smile:
I was one of the select few who did, instead of HE.

Most ppl don’t think much: “HE = skulls for skull throne, HE good! Smoke = LESS skulls for throne, Smoke bad!”

A smoke barrage just isnt as flashy as the HE option and cant give free score so naturaly most randoms wont use it.

I of course don’t know what the perfect timer is, but i don’t wanna go from “smoke is pointless because it puts my arty on cooldown and i can never shoot it anyway because of arty spam”

There needs to be some form of scarcity imo.

The current timer (2 minutes) is already long enough for regular HE imo. So even if separate, 2 minutes for smoke would already be good. 2 minutes can be a very long time in arcade Enlisted.

Separate timers would just mean ppl COULD use smoke without feeling “I’ll get less kills by sacrificing HE”

Because remember… even when the cooldown was 1 minute top, most ppl did not use smoke much either. So I sincerely doubt it would get spammed.

That’s true - but mainly because there was a cost, namely the loss of an artillery strike.

My fear is that with a separate timer only, the amount of smoke will expand a lot because you’re basically getting it for free in comparison to now. So there’s no reason not to drop smoke every time you can.

I simply don’t think that’s good change. The cost shoule be scarcity, while having a higher chance of being able to drop smoke when it’s needed.

I get your point. Normally I’d be cautious of it as well but…

After playing for years and knowing how the playerbase is… I doubt ppl will use it more EVEN without scarcity :stuck_out_tongue: to most, if it doesn’t kill, it’s a waste of time. Just like the ammo drop. It’s free, it got a separate timer! … nobody use it. At all.

Just like how RARE it is to see a player throwing smoke grenades even with how useful they are (a lot).

It’s why I’m not worried. Most won’t use it anyway. Those who do, will still wait 2 minutes for each smoke calls.

I think it’s gonna be one of things where on an average game you are fine, but then there will be games where you have smoke on the map every 2 mins for the whole game.

But as we are speculating, agree to disagree then.
