I just wonder how does this thing work.
Is it simlpy more HP when down or what?
it does not give you more extra hps like vitality.
gunshots that would normally kill you if hitted in the body, this perk will somewhat make your character tank it and not die from it. but instead, make you get downed by it. ( like some sort of increase the resistance on the threshold of damage for death )
essentially you just get downed and " saved " instead.
though the time before you will be able to patch your self up will be longer.
mostly useful if you do not want to lose your soldier right on the bath.
at least works for me.
though,
if you get shot by high caliber weapons, get shot in the head or downed by melee hits, the perk will not save you from that.
So basically a coin flip when my soldier is about to die?
A soldier has 10 damage points without vit
And 10 more on down state
A weapon that does 10 damage will need 1 shot to down another 1 to finish
A weapon that does 20 damage + will one hit kill
A weapon that does 15 have a 50% chance to 1 hit kill. That perk just reduce that % in half and make said gun 25% and not 50% probability to 1 hit kill.
Vitality perk will increase both base and downstate hp in 35%. The above is for vanilla soldiers.
The perk, also adds extra 50% time value to bandage on down state.
depends many factors,
but essentially, your soldiers will have more chances of surviving from small caliber weapons and if you play it in a mid to long ranges, it’s going to save you alot.
at least, it does for me.
i personally use it on class roles soldiers that i deem " more usefull" than others. ( or people that has good guns )
so, there’s a chance that if they get shot, might survive and be able to fight for other 30 seconds or more ( or less )
i personally recommend it.
( it is somewhat cheesy, but less than vitality imo )
Just to note, this perk in combination with+75% medpack use speed, and +200% medpack heal amount on rifleman 3s with large backpacks of meds make for a VERY effective force. It keeps your soldiers moving across very effectively with surprisingly few deaths. Definitely makes people focus a lot harder on the bots at that point.
I’ve had times I’ll take my 9 man across a field just to draw the enemy’s fire so my teammates can flank without being noticed. Works VERY well.
it does. i agree. even tho i dont do it , or as far as i remember never took said perk with the intention to min max a soldier that way, i do tho, play with a person that only does that. and it works wonders for him
i personally take the extra vitality one/recoil reductions and run speed.
