What happened to the vehicle fov?

The fov is now so much zoomed in, I am getting sick of it. Really, I think it’s called nausea.
Also what happened to aim sensitivity?

Okay, if it’s for realism there, I am okay with it.
Still the previous fov was soooo much better.

Agree maybe they revert this the game is in beta after all

Hopefully not, the tank zoom is nice. Drivers hatch needs some work though

Depend how many player react to this in positive way I do not deny now takes time to get used to the new feeling of the tanks

Try driving the jumbo, its crap. Rest of the tanks is decent and I really like the both pz4s

Most people have reacted quite negatively towards the change for obvious reasons. I wouldn’t be renewing my subscription unless it’s addressed.

The game doesn’t need to make sniping in tanks any easier than it already was. All it does is promote stale game play and a total lack of rotation in who is playing the tanks. I played matches where I’ve had the tank the entire round ranking up hundreds of kills miles from the action.

Realism for realism sake is just moronic. This is an arcade FPS shooter. If I wanted realism I’d play Hell Let Loose or Post Scriptum.

Say this to the bunch of guys wo think add the hardcore realistic upgrade to lone figther is a good idea ah yes are the developer

I noticed those having troubles with the new realistic canon sight are those who are used to only use it and nothing else to drive around… A way to adapt to this is remembering each crewmember’s tasks:
-The driver is the one who drives. The viewport is functional.
-The gunner is here to shoot at stuff. He doesn’t control the tank’s movement nor has he time to. (Most tanks have a second viewport without any zoom, ppl tend to forget this)
-The commander coordinate everything. It’s why in game, when selecting this character, you have basic access to most of the tank’s functions. I had to use him in Berlin more than once to roll backward, having him look in the rear viewport (you guys all know how cramped Berlin’s streets are)

I myself sees this as a welcomed, more realistic change. It ressembles a bit more red orchestra tanking, and keep in mind it’s STILL easier and arcade in enlisted, even AFTER the patch. Using the gunner in RO/RO2, your tank simply stayed put. You controlled the gun and the turret, as it should.

I just think ppl need to stop seeing tanks as easy mode or an arcade joke “à la battlefield” and try to tame the beast.

Completely agree.

This change to the Jumbo makes it that I can snipe from the beach of Normandy towards the 3th and 4th point. With the same view as I had before when I would be stanind on point 3 shooting to point 4. The magnification is fucking stupid large. There is no counterplay vs that and I loathe that type of gameplay. You should much rather have my type of player who likes to play mid range with the tank because it is more exciting. Way more chance for counterplay vs a derp like me than vs a tank 4 points back seeing the blue in your eyes from 500 yards and aiming for headshots with a tank cannon.

Have to say the 3x on the pz4 is really nice, I enjoyed shooting that one and with the zoom it goes 6x if you want it. Felt really intuitive and almost makes me swap main again to Germany to get some more pz4 play in.

I like your way of thinking, truly do.

However some of the tanks literally give me a headache to shoot right now, the magnification seems way to much. You drive around and see an enemy tank at mid range, switch to gunner and you are looking at the treeline few hundred yards behind the tank and when you find the tank you can only see parts of the chasis in your scope.

The sensitivity does not match the turret speed anymore at all, it is fine in commander and driver but gunner its x10 and you zip trough the screen for some reason and most of the time you are in the black unless you have a optic mouse with buttons to ajust your sensitivity you have no hope to control it normally in a battle situation.

It is not some random rant people have because it is new, some tanks are actually completely broken with the new scopes. I had to remove the Jumbo from the lineup because if they dont fix the magnification/sensitivity I will never touch it again despite it being the best tank in Normandy. That is how bad the new magnification is.

Preffer the Sherman now it has at least a “normal” magnification and I dont get completely thrown off my game when I swap seats to a driver position. It has a normal mode and a magnified mode. Something the Jumbo does not have, only magnified to max.

It is also not that I hate the change, I have tried all non premium tanks in Normandy and the pz4 tanks hit the exact spot, needs to get used to but feels way more realistic. Puma/Stuart etc are fine, some getting used to but nothing breaking. Regarding the other factions I have no clue, the change might be great for Moskow/Berlin.

Agreed.

Mostly I feel for new players as their tanks have zero survivability at range.

Well, the patch just came out… they may fix up some things as they go, beta and all. I’m not too worried, they update stuff pretty often.

I hope so

I think this is stupid… they nerfed tanks by making people want to sit in the back of the map more… how are you supposed to kill a tank or a jumbo that’s sitting in the great zone now… they have zero incentive to go up to infantry and possibly be killed.

You are incorrect… This was in no way a nerf, but mostly a more realistic way to control the crew as a whole and not JUST the gunner. Also, other tanks have a better chance, albeit slim, to counter the jumbo, being able to magnify it’s rare weakspots…

There were plenty of counters to jumbos before the change to FoV. They get bombed easily and had to be close to shoot something. Before the change you still had to use the commander spot to monitor your flanks and use the additional MG. You’re argument is flawed.
