Not really. You say jumbos can get bombed, I get that. But that wasn’t the point The point is from other TANKS perspective. The zoom helps them, plain and simple.
The issue is it forces tanks into long range fights rather then give them the ability to get close and personal.
Wich is EXACTLY what tanks are supposed to do. Tanks should NOT leave the protection of infantry and charge ahead wrecking things like Kool aid man.
The tanks always figth in long distance because are fucking moving artillery unit the only issues here are the map made only for cqc
No no lmao, that’s not what I mean. Having tanks stick with infantry is the point since they are infantry support vehicles, however now we have to sit way behind even our own infantry lines just to see.
I thought I was the only one who noticed. I can’t hit shit right now with my rifles.
it was nerfed to prevent people from ruining the game for others.
huh?
for the jumbo it is not at all realistic, it is just a very big nerf because it becomes unplayable in close combat against other tanks.
For the Jumbo it is a massive buff to strength but massive nerf to playability. Its strengths are greatly boosted, the closer the enemy tank is the more chance the enemy tank has. Right now Jumbo players wont get close anymore, resulting in the people that play the Jumbo as a normal tank dont play it anymore and the lamers that just sit in the grey zone have their abiltys greatly buffed by the insane sniper rifle zoom it has. Just give it a 3x default and 6x zoom instead of the defauly 8x
And that is a real zoomlvl of a american WWII Tank ?
Sounds more that the developer want to force multicrews in Tanks.
3 People have to leave there own Tanks and join one.
Alone its unplayable, because the most maps are close range and under 220 Yards with lot of Obstacles in sight.
I like this tbh. The equipment unlocked in later levels of campaigns shouldn’t be able to kill everything with zero effort. The end game tanks usually require very low effort.
I don’t see how that’s not a good thing. Less meaner tanks in the game helps players in the lower levels.
Tanks shouldn’t be venturing out of their safe zones in the first place unless they have a dedicated infantry squad supporting them. The Jumbo can absolutely do the same. The higher zoom also gives them the ability to flank jumbo and shoot while maintaining a safe distance. It bridges the gap between high and lower campaign level players. The Jumbo still have it easy but a starter tank now has better odds of success in engagements if the player is smart enough.
The later level tanks were already harder to play because of their speed.
Adding realism to computer games for the sake of realism without any thought of the implications to game play and enjoyment is a recipe for disaster. The entire game needs to be re-architected to support this change from enlarging maps to enabling multi player tank crews.
Should we also have tanks model break downs? You know maybe 50% of the time your tank spawns in working order the rest it’s just a brick or maybe there was a lack of fuel and you can only run your tank for 2 minutes before it runs out? How about we add random break downs that you can’t fix in the field? All would be “realistic” but would add nothing to the enjoyment of the game only frustration.
Pz III E in Mosocw is slow af. But it is immune to T-60s in Moscow. Does that make the III E hard to play? Absolutely not, inconvenient perhaps. That’s the price you pay for having a tank with functioning armor and can reliably kill other tanks. The same goes for end game tanks.
But they also tend to bring balance like in the case of tanks. The zero effort game play shouldn’t be entertained.
Also, I didn’t talk about realism at all. I am not knowledgeable enough in WW2 equipment to ask for such changes. I have no idea at all if the current gunner’s view is how it is supposed to be irl. But I’ve been playing the game long enough to have been on the right and wrong side of high tier equipment. Therefore, I find any change that makes it difficult for the end game equipment to be used a welcome one.
You’re argument is completely nonsensical. You basically stated that the new FoV balances the higher tier tanks and takes away “zero effort game play”, how is sitting miles away from the action stationary sniping noobs and AI not “zero effort”?
Slow tanks are easy targets for infantry at close range. That makes them harder to play effectively in CQC with infantry swarming around you, that requires more effort i.e. is harder than sitting at the edge of the map sniping. That is irrefutable fact.
All the change does is force stale tank play with people camping miles from the action because there is zero possibility for coordination between infantry and tanks in this game and never will be because it’s not based on reality one bit.
The new FOV takes away the ability of tanks to engage in close ranges effectively. Making them vulnerable to infantry. Try getting close to a T-28 in Moscow as an infantry. The new FOV will make it easier for the infantry to engage tanks.
As long as you are sitting miles away and engaging tanks, that’s totally fine. Tanks are supposed to take out tanks and the higher tier ones should have an easy time doing so. But the new FOV also gives the chance for smaller tanks that are faster to quickly get out of view of opposing tanks and have an attempt at shooting the sides.
Tried this myself with a Pz III E that has abysmal turret transverse against T-60 and BT-7. T-60 wasn’t much of a match because it can’t pen but BT-7 was able to evade pretty easily. On the other hand, if I was further away from the BT-7, I could have easily finished him in a single shot.
The FOV kind of forces you away from the fighting areas. It can also give planes some new purpose.
What’s wrong with tanks camping miles away? And you are more than welcome to push into the fighting areas. Someone will sneak up on you. If you don’t want that, play alongside friends.
Yes, but you’re missing the point. That’s doesn’t happen / not going to happen any more because you can snipe from miles away and not put your tank in any danger.
How? All that is happening is the high tier tanks are so far away that they can snipe low tier tanks before they have any chance to flank. All it takes is a quick check now and then in the commander seat. That’s been my experience anyway.
If you don’t see that as a problem for making game play stale then you want to play a different sort of game to me. I suggest you play Hell Let Loose or Post Scriptum where that type of game play is the norm.
That would be all well and good but have you tried to mark tanks half way across the map? 90% of the time the game won’t let you the rest of the time the team doesn’t even bother.
Ofcourse you can rush in and die like a lunatic but that’s not going to solve the stale game play forced by the FoV changes that sane and logical player trying to maximise their XP are going to perpetuate.
Finally this game is obviously not meant to be played with “friends” you can’t even chat outside of being in game and trying to coordinate someone supporting you in a tank when half the time you can’t spawn on the location you want warrants a whole new topic.
No one said it’s going to be easy but it’s possible. And this could very well depend on the tank you are facing. Pz III E stands no chance at all if someone decides to flank unless you are far away.
Removing ways to farm kills is not making game play stale. The tanks are just as capable against infantry as before. Tanks should be vulnerable against infantry. They were with the previous FoV but now even more. If devs are planning on bringing even bigger tanks(which they will have to with campaigns going all the way to lvl 40), this is going to come in handy for the infantry.
Let the pilot know in chat. With the HE buff, bombs don’t have to super accurate to take out tanks.
A good pilot will figure out that there is tank on field without teammates letting it known. If not, you should have friends letting you know. This is why you squad up. Playing with randoms is never pleasant.
Sane and logical player trying to maximize XP will be playing the objective and not tanks. If you haven’t noticed, there has been changes to zone defense kills. There are also XP handed out for anything engineer built now. You are not getting either of those with tanks.
Ever heard of Discord?
There’s also a voice chat feature in game if you didn’t know.
I give up, you’re too much of a moron to even take one of my points onboard.
