Weapon recoil and realism update

This game is realistic in the weapons department but can be improved.

To improve recoil we must first talk about physics.
A weapon with a rate of fire of 900+ like the PPSh-41 is shooting fast enough to cancel out felt recoil between shots causing less recoil and more of a push like a pressure washer.

However a weapon like the PPS-43 has a rate of fire of 700 witch is not fast enough to cancel out felt recoil.

Then you have a weapon like the M3 Grease Gun that fires slow enough to allow recoil to settle by the time it fires again.

Now on to individual weapon upgrades.

M1918 Chopper, M1921, M1921AC, M1928, and M1928A1 Thompsons should have a upgrade for 50 and 100 round drums at the cost of reload speed and mobility.

All Thompsons should have a automatic bolt hold open on 20 and 30 round stick mags.

All open bolt guns should have a realistic open bolt delay.

All guns with muzzle brakes or compensators should have muzzle blast in the direction there pointing.

Weapon recoil should be improved (watch videos on each weapon to get the recoil right)

Take note of the features on guns that have effects on recoil like The M1921AC Thompsons Compensator and Vertical Front grip or the Muzzle break and compensator on the PPSh-41.

Now on to weapon details.

All Sten Guns need to be open bolt.
The Grease Guns need a better sound like in Battlefield 5.
Many Guns need a tactical reload animation.
All Thompsons need a automatic bolt hold open on 20 and 30 round stick mags.
The MG-42 needs a RPM of 1200-1500.
The MP-38 and MP-41 Should have no recoil at All because of the hydraulic buffer.

Im on PS4 so i cant get all weapons yet.
Ill finish this list later.

This mostly ignores muzzle rise caused by the drop from barrel line to buttstock, but that’s dependent on the gun, and no compensator alone is going to totally mitigate that.

But it is easier to get back on target between shots, just as you’ve said with the M3.

No thanks. That would genuinely be imbalanced, and while the 50 rounders are more reasonable they’re still borderline.

That’s something, at least, but I’d settle for paying a consultant who’s fired all or most of them (Gun Jesus would do)

They help, but neither negates muzzle rise or felt recoil, and the recoil is pretty close to realistic as modelled.

Are they not, in game? Huh.

No, keep that gimmicky crap out of WW2, thanks.

It’s within the realistic range as is, and I think the mounted ones fire faster.

That doesn’t mean they don’t recoil.

If I didn’t quote one of your points, it means I found no fault in and probably agree with it.

Also, isn’t this a duplicate topic?
This game reminds me of Call of Duty: World at War - English speaking section / Suggestions - Enlisted

go play cod

XD About as realistic as H&G and a tad more than BFV.

It doesn’t cancel out, that’s not how physics work unless I don’t know something… More RPM makes recoil feel smother if anything and I would say that it’s already in game (opinion beased on extensive usage of MG34).

Deffinitelly no. We might give allies one Tommy gun with 50 round mag and maybe one 100 round mag as golden order or something like that. They weren’t so widelly used and they won’t be good for ballance.

Sure, why not.

YES!

No idea.

A lot of guns are wrong and a lot sounds bad. Bren mg sounds completely wrong, same with German mgs. Where’s the 30 cal

I talking about reloading mid mag

MP40 and MP41 recoil

MP-43 recoil

PPSh-41 recoil

PPSh-41 with no muzzle break and compensator

PPSh with no muzzle break or compensator

PPD-40 and Beretta M38/42 recoil

I want the same juicy shot sound as in the video. In the game, it feels like an MP-43 with a silencer.

Ah. Don’t we already have that?

Yes some guns don’t have a proper animation (pulling the charging handle when the gun is already loaded)

Thompson recoil (M1921AC, M1921/28, M1)
