The Weapons Academy is a place where you can change the class of your weapon and subsequently change it’s battle rating.
Key concepts:
Specialist weapon - weapon of a certain class that has become available to specialists after a class change. (engineer, radio operator, anti-tanker, rifleman, etc.)
Ersatz - machine gun - weapon of any class, which after changing the class became available to the machine gunner class.
The user will be able to give his weapon to the “academy” and for a certain amount of silver perform the transformation.
Let’s look at some class transformations.
All these models will receive the third battle rating after transformation and will become available to specialists. To avoid confusion, some kind of mark should be added to such weapons.
These weapons will receive a fourth BR after transformation.
It is obvious that the submachine gun gets 2 more BR after transformation. All these weapons will go to the fifth. You may have missed the ZK-383. The description of this weapon says “light machine gun”. I’m not sure the game needs 9-man squads with “light machine guns”. But that’s my opinion.
I also propose to give the opportunity to transform the entire family of BAR automatic rifles into “specialist weapons”. Including those that were sold for gold orders of Germany and Japan. Well, or at least consider the possibility of receiving through the academy the “specialist weapon” class of the fifth BR with the weakest weapon of this family - M1918. (Did I say - shouldn’t make 9-man squads armed with light machine guns? I don’t give a shit, the name of the weapon says “automatic rifle”. You can start accusing me of using double standards.)
Now let’s talk about “Ersatz machine guns”. The Soviets lack a normal BR-2 machine gun (what is this blasphemer talking about? MADSEN IS GOD-LIKE! AVE-MADSEN!)
And what if the academy turns the AVS-36 into a “normal (ersatz) machine gun”? Besides, many people at that time considered automatic rifles precisely as ersatz light machine guns.
Another very useful function of the academy can be changing the magazine on a weapon for a certain amount of silver.
Also, some classes only have access to starting bolt-action rifles. You can do something interesting with this too.
It is advisable to carry out all these transformations while preserving the weapon upgrades.
The Academy will greatly diversify the build construction and gaming experience. I don’t think it will be very difficult to implement from a technical point of view. The player can already exchange weapons for silver. So let him be able to exchange weapons for another entity - the same weapon, only of a different class or with a different magazine.
