Have you ever been told that unlinking maps from BRs is a bad idea? Unlinking maps from BRs is a bad idea.
But I have one question in this context. In Enlisted there is (I hope it really exists and it’s not another psyop from snails) the so-called soft rule of historicity. The priority feature by which teams are formed is the battle rating. When teams are assembled by BR, the game can apply the soft rule and send the player to the map that best matches his weapons not only by BR, but also by historical accuracy. But this soft rule does not work, because there is not enough online for this and this online is divided by the binding of maps and BRs.
And now to the question itself. Will this rule start working at least a little, after unlinking maps from BRs?
Since this topic is in the suggestions section, I will immediately suggest several innovations for the soft rule.
Spoiler
It would be great if the player could see the approximate chance of getting to a particular map in the menu.
Players armed with prototypes will more often meet against other players armed with prototypes. (This also applies to post-war weapons)
For players armed with prototypes, the soft rule will not work at all. And what difference does it make to them? They are already armed with fake weapons.
We also need to introduce some types of vehicle to fight tanks, which for now have no equal in strength opponents in the historical context.
Sturmpantser 2.
Ho-Ni 2.
M36 - Jackson.
Sherman 105mm with cumulative shells.
(You can suggest your own options)
The same applies to small arms.
The USSR does not have a historical BR-2 submachine gun for the Battle of Moscow maps. Of course, you can send players armed with a Madsen machine gun to Moscow under the soft rule, but I would rather suggest a captured MP-40.
Also about the Madsen. The Madsen is a very rare thing and it is strange to see it as the main machine gun of the Red Army. The AVS-36, which was also used in the light machine gun niche, would be better suited for this role.
Also, the US does not have a historical automatic rifle in principle. The BAR is ideal for this role.
But how to add the BAR and AVS-36 to other weapon classes? You can add other modifications of these models to the game, or you can use the mechanism described in this topic.
I have nothing to offer for Japan. At BR4-5, all they can do is fight against US players armed with prototypes. That is, players for the USA, armed with serial weapons, will meet more often against Germany, and players armed with prototypes, against Japan, since Japan has nothing to arm itself with except prototypes.
