Game is really not fun right now.
Not just artillery I mean everything. The anti vehicle weapons are trash, and it’s just turned into all vehicles and artillery fire.
SPAM.
learn to use det packs, the Piat (if you are allies) bombing, AT guns or simply don’t run into tanks and aim for engaging enemy infantry and mark them for someone who can take them out
@OP … You have been playing this game for what ??? A week maybe ??? If the game is not your cup of tea then there are plenty of other FPS’s out there that do things their way.
Guess what, War has a lot of spam in it … it is somewhat chaotic at times … Take a break and come back later maybe it will be more to your liking then …
I currently like the direction this game is heading, If they turn it into a duplicate of all the other FPS trash that’s out there then I can promise you I wont be around for long…
This forum is literally for giving feedback, why are you telling him to go play another game?
And he’s right. The amount of artillery strikes, air strikes is infuriating. I had one invasion map where the objective was under artillery strikes for like 10 minutes straight with NO PAUSE, and that doesnt even count in the airplane bombing. Yes, war has alot of bombs, but this just takes the fun out of the game.
Idk, im on the fence about this but sometimes I feel the only reason we won matches is because of good artillery/mortar/rocket or bomb placement. When the enemy team gets really dug in you shell the hell out of them and then go in.
Balance is more important adn in wars I doubt that the high command would allow you to arty your own mates (which happens way too often) or send Stukas without fighter protection in a battle where I fly around with my Yak and shoot them down.
In real wars especially ww2 there are no arty and airstrike spams every 30 sec, your comment makes no sense, I guess you just like to spam and grief ppl.
What was his feedback? The game is not fun? And then he said no part of it is fun? That’s not feedback in any constructive way … And if it’s not fun for him than why is he here?
I will agree that some people utilizing arty dont know what they are doing … They are just dropping it on the objective without regard for friendly causalties. And most of the time thats because they are firing blindly.
I have made several post that would IMO help this situation while at the same time improve the spam problem with both arty and mortars … It can be done without totally nerfing the classes.
Its nerfing if people cant spam arty anymore
Arty and mortars were a big part of WW2 and lets not pretend that they weren’t. Every 30 seconds? No but this is a game and time is compressed where you have battles that only last 15 to 30 minuets.
So there is a balance to be reached where we have the appropriate amount of arty and mortars participating in the battle to actually have an impact on the battle without being too OP.
That’s what it really comes down to how do they balance those classes without nerfing them into oblivion …
Lol. One mortar squad is more than enough to screw the day. Same goes for radios (especially since you can add a radio to other squads).
Class restrictions is nothing more than placebo regarding radio and mortar.
No, nerfing is changing a class to where it’s no longer viable or fun for the majority of people to play. Lets be realistic here, in reality arty has and has had a tremendous impact on many RL wars and battles. I would like to to stay that way in enlisted.
Otherwise it’s just another cookie cutter FPS
So speak plainly then??? If one is too much, then what do you want them to do remove those classes completely?
And the people who cant play their radio/ mortar squad anymore cause the slot is already taken (and wont be free for a while) would still have fun?
I dont think so and less radio woudl mean less effecienty of the class as one radio sqaud is less effective than two.
Its like the nerf of planes by prevent them from spawning in the first minute.
In reality the arty wouldnt spam-fire at a contested battlefield due the danger of friendly fire, wouldnt be able to constantly giving fire support every 10 seconds, planes wouldnt be able to reload and refuel while flying (same goes for tanks reloading in nowhere) or the Germans in Berlin wouldnt even have aircraft but well… at the end we have to consider balance.
Why? Just cause some people cant spam arty anymore?
Remove the engineer slots from the mortar squad, increase the cool down time for radio squad by at least 30 seconds, if not even more, or give them a unqiue arty strike (like rocket artillery or railway cannons) instead of the decreased cool down time.
I don’t like increasing the timer at all because waiting around to fire is not fun. Just like the timer increase on planes was not the best solution. Rather I support giving the 2 classes more to do than just sit in one spot firing blindly.
Make them spot the location that they are firing into … That is what those units actually had to do. Arty spotters had to see the rounds landing and direct the fire on target.
Light mortar (50 to 60mm) teams did not carry radio’s with them and in most cases had to direct lay their tubes and spot for themselves.
Implement that mechanic and those classes will have to continually reposition to see where they are firing. This will make them vulnerable to enemy fire like every other class and will naturally cut down on the spam .
Well. Getting spammed with arty isnt fun either.
People dont mark a lot aside tanks so i would call this a nerf (not even mentioning the macthes where the majority of the squads are bot only squads) and well… mortars are already somewhat relied on marks since they do not have assists aside the objective marker.
Ad this is no nerf lol?
Making them actually get involved with the fire and maneuver of the battle like every other player? Make them vulnerable to being shot like every other player? No I don’t call it a nerf … not every change is a nerf … I call it playing the game.
Some may see it as a nerf, If they enjoy sitting in one spot blinding spamming … If that’s someone’s idea of fun then they might call it a nerf.
I call it making them play the game and participate in the battle in a more realist way …
For arty, a slight rework would probably fix the issues with it:
Instead of a red circle, have the arty first drop some spotting rounds. If the arty user gets visual confirmation on them (spot an area near one of the shells), accuracy is greatly enhanced for the artillery drop.
On top of that, if you teamkill with arty, you get reduced XP gain for the rest of the match (-5% per soldier killed? something like that)
For mortars, they need to be forced outside of their spawn to fire. Otherwise, there is no way to kill them and they can easily rack up 50+ kills without dying (my record is 75)
