I like your idea on arty, I would say the same mechanic would work with mortars as well. This would force them to move outside the protection of the spawn in order to fire.
Mortars were specifically intended to be fired indirectly. The artillery dudes we have right now are spotters intended to visually confirm targets. As such, for artillery, visual confirmation would enhance realism. For mortars, it would be the opposite.
However, mortars always would fear counterbattery fire, bombers, or direct engagements. With them being able to sit in spawn, they are magically protected from counterbattery fire from artillery, as well as from direct engagements. Only bombers, and counterbattery fire from mortars are left. As a result, they drastically overperform because they are not adequately countered. Forcing them out of their spawn by simply preventing them from shooting inside of it would solve this issue.
Calling arty by marking area with binoculars, instead of map would be better in my opinion. I mean something like calling V1 rocket in BFV.
It would make arty boys vulnerable and would be more realistic than sending a guy forward to draw a mark on a map.
I think that calling it blindly, then confirming it visually, would prove to be a bit more dynamic. If you can just mark with the binoās, then run away, the enemy has no chance of countering the arty strike by killing the spotter. By forcing them to probably waste most of the strike through inaccuracy if they donāt spot, you can force the spotter out of hiding after people see the spotting shells. I can agree on giving them binoculars alongside their normal equipment, though.
So it seems that I misunderstood your point.
Your idea is to:
a) drop spotting shels
b) look at them to confirm
c) gain increased accuracy and you donāt have to stare no longer

Yes. At the cost of much lower default accuracy.
Dudeā¦simmer yourself. You are making a lit of assumptions based on nothing. Iāve been playing the game as long as the beta went live. I have seen how over time the spam has gotten worse and worse. In war there are a lot of explosives, but not in such a confined area like this. Remember all FPS games have borders on their maps there is not any way to avoid that. Itās up to the devs to understand this and balance the games accordingly. Right now this game is unbalanced in favor artillery and vehicles.
Just so know I am taking a break from this game to play all of my other shooters until when and if they fix this mess.

I know how to use det packs and other AT weapons, they suck. Tankers have gotten really good at avoiding the det packs, because they are silly, but before that that I got pretty good with them. Tanks piss me off, I wont ever get into one in any game. I make it my mission to blow the things up, and am pretty good at it in other games. This game gives us spitt wads. Give us the TNT on a line with an ignition box like in real life The AA guns suck ass, IDT anyone will argue that. The AT cannons suck as well. Itās way to difficult to place and camo those things as well.
This is the suggestions feedback section. I am suggesting they balance their game.
Rocky is the same guy who sits at the back of the map in BF1 with a spamtillery truck flossing about how many kills he he gets, lol.
If I had to sum up the game currently in one word it would be tiring.
You are being relentlessly pounded by explosions which put you either in a having to heal sate or suppressed. Iād sooner be in a good fire fight pushing the objective.
Its not even really a debate as to whether its occurring, the game is basically unplayable currently.
As a suggestion, have arty as a powerful weapon but a really long cool down, perhaps remove the markers but its only once or twice a game.
For the planes, get an airfield happening to rearm, this was great on early BF games. Have strafing runs be an addition perhaps, but with the guns not rockets.
And as mentioned on this thread get the mortars out of spawn protection and force them to engage a little, and have limited ammo so its used at the right moment perhaps when trying to push an objective not just spamming randomly.
And yet so many people are managing to play this āunplayableā game - wonder what they have that you donāt??
