There must be a reason for grinding an Assaulter III that costs much more XP than an Assaulter I. Please leave the Vitality perk as is. It was normal in real war that a soldier could survive a rifle hit and go on fighting.
Upgrading mp43 and ppsh.
You can have vitality on your assaulter-1
During beta I thought the whole idea about the 35hp perk was to give it to units like troopers, who are only having basic rifles, while MGs, snipers and smgs would have better guns but couldnt get this more HP perk - kinda a boost for ppl using just bolt acitons for example.
Guess that āIdeaā was thrown out the window very fast.
Right now not having this perk is a free card to lose the battle, surviving a direct hit from a bolt action gives you the time to wipe an entire squad with your FG 42 and such.
10% more HP is actually still a lot and should be a start to look how the game changes, I would be happier tho to see it go away completely.
no it was not
That might the the case today with ballistic vests but in WWII not so much. You might kill some more enemies with your last energy and a strong will including berserker mindset powered by crystal meth but this only counts for the axis side
I donāt think that the soldiers kept on fighting in wwII after getting shot in the belly or the lungs etc. like nothing happened. They might have been able to fight on if they got hit in the leg or in the arm but even so they have been handicapped for real.
I find that shooting them in the legs actually downs them more reliably than center-mass. Take that information and experiment as you will.
(You can even shoot them in the gun!)
This guy was hit three times and still continued charging the enemy.
Possible ā normal
The issue i think lays mainly in bolt action rifles. They should be the main weapon of most soldiers. Yet only few have sufficient damage to be worth taking into action.
Maybe instead of changing this perk, we simply increase BA damage, to that of mosin rifles, 15-17 can easly kill in close range, and down up to reasonable range.
I find even downing enemy soldiers with bolt actions laughable, and yet they can just ignore it with vitality.
There is no more 1 shot 1 kill. And You have to finished downed enemy as they likely have 2,5s healing. 2 kill per mag, with 80% accuracy. Thatās a joke
I think thatās issue for all weapons. Bolt actions just suffer from this more than other guns.
well not every soldier gets 16 vitality points either.
Almost every can get 16 vitality.
Except snipers ofc.
Think both that and the kickback reduction perk needs to be redone.
For mg and smg we mag dump anyway, melee and flamethrowers barely care about vitality. Maybe pistols suffer also.
Getting 2-3 shots or 3-4 shots from PPSH that fires 70 bullets in 2 seconds is not much diffrence.
MGās require 2 shots most of the time anyway, but they got ammo.
Bolt actions suffer.
Yeah the fact that this is a must take perk to be ācompetitiveā is telling. Due to the low TTK, anything that helps you win the current engagement is going to be the most important perk. I canāt count the number of times where I should have lost the fight (other guy reacted quicker or had the drop on me), but because I run vitality on all my guys, I was able to win the fight and kill the rest of their squad as they swapped.
Personally I would like an overhaul of all the perks so that they would fit different play styles instead of directly impacting the game. Right now itās just Aim Speed/Medpack Usage Speed + Vitality + Vertical Recoil on everyone. Maybe for an engineer you take build speed or extra resources if you want to reduce combat efficiency.
It is super noticeable at range though with the damage drop off. PPSh does such low damage at range that I have been able to run across open streets and survive.
I would like for all max BAs to 1 shot personally. Un-nerf Semis and give BAās higher hit power so that if a shot connects it kills at close-mid, and downs at further. Playing the Berlin premium rifle squads is so fun because the guns do 17 damage and actually 1 shot to the chest reliably.
I just like surviving 1 hit from pinpoint accurate bots shots through forests.
At closer range, bolties will always 1 shot no matter what (they just need to do 13.5 damage) and if they are max star can one shot even health perks users from a bit further.
So what does this āopā perk protects from, then? Camping snipers. Thatās it.
If you gun someone with an automatic you wont even notice if he has the perk or not š¤·
Nah, leave it as is.
Or maybe we could buff BAs by like 1 or 2 hitpower.
Iām often playing lone fighters.
Today I got flanked by some enemy. He shot me in the back with his bolt-action. The distance was about 30m.
Then I turned and killed him, because rifle bullet in your spine doesnāt hurt you.
