Vitality perk IS ruining the experience

So, as most of you know, back then this game had very small ttk and btk. That was one of the main reasons why many of you (and me too) joined this game. This is realistic and immersive enough - one bullet from bolt-action or two from smg were killing your enemy. And that’s right - see, we have hundreds of enemies around, so weapons should be deadly.
5-star soldiers were a very rare thing back then. But then came the current upgrading system, so all old players (or guys who’s playing only one side cuz T1 soldiers have cheap upgrades) can get full squads of highlevel soldiers with +35% vitality perk. And many soldiers are getting shot with powerful rifle cartridge… But they don’t care, they keep running like it’s nothing which breaks the immersion and is bf-level crap. That also increases smg btk from 2 to at least 3-4 bullets.

So the suggestion is:

  1. Reducing the cost of this perk to 8 vitality
  2. Reducing its value to only 10%

That keeps the perk useful, but ain’t making guns much less deadly (as it does now).
You can say that weapon upgrading is also a thing now. But it’s only 10-20% damage buff so it will just compensate the perk or will make a weapon a bit more deadly… Just how they should be in this game, I mean.

This isnt only my opinion. I asked many players and they also think that this game IS about one-shots and instant knockdowns, and this perk completely deletes them.

Yep.

I remember when first prem squads were introduced to a point where you had 4 dudes upgradable up to 8/7 that they all could have vitality perk over Moscow.

You had no idea how much painful it was. Cuz they were all assaulters.

And it tooks several months to nerf prem squads.

But this perk never got change.

It buffles me how I managed to get one of my assaulters with vitally perk plus the downing bullets upon fatal death plus a 2.5 seconds of revive team from meedkit.

So this soldier Needs ( potentially ) 3 bullets just to put it out of action for good.

Good luck with other 6 guys in the squad that ( luckily does not have all the same. Perks ) but needing to waste at least 3 bullets on a singular dude, call that be.

But who am I to judge in a arcade game…
So… I doubt this will go away either.

I don’t share your experience on EU servers. I down everyone with 1 or 2 shots still… max 3 with smgs.

This perk is so OP that, instead of trying to get it on every soldiers of my squad I prefer to wait for the nerf, so I save time and effort.

Especially because not all soldier can easely get 16 vitality.

That perk is well balanced by the amount of vitality points you need for it.
So no extra stamina/stamina regen for you etc.
And weaponry back in CBT (bolt actions most notably) had much lower damage as well (especially nerfed axis ones). Not to mention this perk was possible to combine with pain flinch reduction (aka possibility to shoot with laser accuracy even if recently wounded)
So I would leave this perk alone tbh.
"Nerfing it to +10% but for 8 vitality points is not a nerf, it is pretty much a buff.

Well, not really… Stamina regeneration is free, and I’d personally take extra health over extra stamina any day.

Also, maybe I’m lucky, but I find most of my tier I riflemen and assaulters rolling the required 16 health points when upgraded at 5 stars.

Yes, you get it by the cost of several other useful upgrades.

I myself do prefer other perks over the health perk!

True, forgot that stamina regen is for free. Good point.
Still, I personaly prefer more stamina over hp, as it is nothing that 15.0 bolt actions (especially upgraded) can´t chew.

It’s free.

Almost every soldier can get it. Tried it with assaulters yesterday, getting 8 T1 assaulters with 16 vitality was pretty easy.

It’s mostly a rework. More soldiers can use it, but it gives you only 1 extra hp.
And you still have only 5 slots for perks, so even if you want use other vitality points, you won’t be able to use some other favorite perks then.

A bit more distance, and soldier won’t care.
And there’s no 15.0 bolt actions in tunisia, normandy and berlin axis.

We could say that +35% health increases your chances to survive the first hit, while other health perks increase the chances of surviving the second. Good thing they are mutually exclusive.

Just as said, that feels wrong for this game.

NGL tho, as long as a torso hit with a BA guarantees at least downing the target, i could live with it.

I’m way more frustrated by not being able to even hit bots, when they enter zig-zag mode and change direction 3 times a second with 0 inertia like drunken flies.

If ever, the fast healing perk could be maybe dialed down a bit (say, +50 instead of +75%), to decrease the occurrence of your target standing back up faster than you can reload your gun.

I was thinking about that too. And yeah, it should.

Still, I remember that as a new player I was pleasantly surprised by perks actually having tangible effects. I wouldn’t like them to be nerfed so that their benefits become marginal or negligible.

Some perks are just too good compared to another. Like, we have healing speed for 8 speed and small sprint boost for 16. Or +12% bolt-action reload speed for 12 points, and -40% vertical recoil for 14.

At the time this perk is still quite a rare thing. Not that many people are into perks to understand its tremendous utility. But with time it can become a standard thing. So we will have battles where 70-80% of soldiers have this perk. And that is not fun. I personally have this +35 vitality perk on every other soldier in all my campaigns. And honestly, I feel kind of wrong when I survive a bolt rifle hit. I agree that this perk should be nerfed.

Yeah lets nerf everything useful in the game

Let’s have another ultra casual game where soldier eats 10 bullets in his head before he dies. We already have knockdown, so you’re not dying instantly. Why increasing ttk even more?

by 10 bullets you mean 2 from rifles and 3 from SMGs? :stuck_out_tongue:
