Can something be done about players who just spam top tier vehicles in order to farm kills?
Had to play Normandy for battle passes, because the game has still not yet worked out that I DO NOT want to play lone wolf, and their team (Allies) had two players who scored over 200 kills, using only the A20 and Sherman Jumbo.
Same goes for any side or any campaign, but I know the Jumbo is one of the most controversial in terms of its balance. I feel like the T-28 can be too powerful, even in my hands.
They lost the match, because they didnāt once deploy infantry and contribute to the match.
But something needs to be done to counter this sort of play. It doesnāt help the team in the slightest.
Either a limiter that prevents the same player deploying vehicles for x time, or a limit on certain vehicle types being deployed. Such as a higher the vehicle tier, the less uses per match that vehicle can be request sort of thing.
I really find your idea interesting, T-28 is a great tank to contain infantry the only problem is the very weak armor, unbalanced tank will really have, but I believe that over time they will add other tanks to fight with the jumbo among others, lately in this game Iāve been heating my head more with TNT spam in tanks respawn than with the tanks themselves, itās disgusting to see everyone carrying a TNT even the tanker runs with the tank to his direction this of the tank is holding the TNT (no surprise explosion element in his own hand) and throws at the tank and boom any tank went into space, light, heavy, average armor and what I find most funny is that the guys think this is super normal and compare this with games like hell let loose among others where the map is huge and the AT squads that carry bazokas or sticky bombs, here the tank is no problem. game reno and respawn allows a horrible player to take advantage of this facility that the game provides.
Itās in the game and itās called spawning in your own tank ⦠Jumbo isnāt invincible especially from the flanks ⦠I know because I have had my Jumbo KOed several times.
If he is snipping from a distance then he is going to be zoomed in with his gunner. This limits his FOV (field of view ) ⦠Spawn in a Puma and get on his flank or rear ā¦
Even if you donāt take him out with the first shot he will most likely have to stop snipping to deal with you ā¦
That wouldnāt work, said players would still farm with lower tier vehicles⦠wich are just as deadly to INFANTRY than higher tier, better HE, but slower vehicles. Big huge tanks are NOT better vs infantry compared to small, nimble mobile machine gun bunkers. The only added value of bugger tanks⦠is that they can take out bigger tanks themselves. Also yes, some have good HE. But they tend to be very sluggish.
Thereās a difference between using vehicles effectively and just spawn camping. Unfortunately, this player in particular was just sitting back and spawnkilling our armour while just mowing down infantry. There was little we could do to counter, and when we did knock them out, they just deployed the A20 and 500lb bombed us, before suiciding an infantry squad to return to the Jumbo.
There is a difference, one is using skill, the other is using blatantly broken mechanics to farm kills and not support the team.
Arguably it would, the lower tier vehicles from Moscow are very easy to counter and kill, in fact, I rarely have issues with armour in this campaign. Likewise with Berlin, due to the Panzerfausts, The T34-85 and Panzer 4/ panther are very easy to kill.
I do believe that the current issue with Normandy, is the lack of suitable Anti Armor, which probably makes the Jumbo harder to deal with. But, I would still like to see some form improved restriction to vehicle spamming than just āUse 2 different squads and return to OP vehicleā
I mostly play Moscow and Berlin (I donāt play Normandy yet) and like you I find that tanks here are already easy to counter, even as infantry.
Wich is why I think forcing a limit on heavier tanks to be rather pointless.
What COULD satisfy people however, is the TICKET value of said tanks. During invasion itās especially important, spawning with a big lumbering behemot could take up more tickets than a tankette. Exploding one of those bigger tanks could also give more xp, simply because why not.
Excuse my french but I think this is statement is a load of crock. Tanks and infantry have different spawn points and if he is able to kill your tanks as they spawn while at the same time switching from AP to kill tanks and also switching to HE to kill infantry then I just doubt the validaty of that whole statement.
If you can supply video of this which would justify the nerfing of the jumbo then I will also post my humble apology.
No Nerf is necessary or should be called for just because you had one bad experience. Most likely your team didnāt know or didnāt want to address the proverbial elephant in the room.
As I said before, ⦠the axis teams has tanks that can deal with the jumbo and even if you cant get to his flanks and rear you can distract him enough that he will not be able to kill infantry while dealing with you.
But no one on your team wanted to do that because while you are playing cat and mouse with jumbo then your not farming killls either ⦠And thatās what this game is all about farming kills.
So donāt ask the devs to nerf something so that player canāt farm kills when you are doing the same thing ⦠If you want to nerf the Jumbo then nerf him yourself and go after him in the game ā¦
If youāve not started Normandy then just donāt start it till they fix CAS. Itās by far the worst campaign for infantry gameplay.
It wasnāt so bad when I started the game and maxed Germany but now itās a straight up train wreck of a campaign as you get chain bombed all game long. Went back yesterday to see if I could rank up US and absolutely hated it.
All you need to do is find a position where you can see the direction tanks leave the spawn and bam, you can spawn kill them while hosing down infantry with the machine guns. You donāt have to swap to HE or anything like thatā¦
I donāt record my gamesā¦
Itās not ONE bad experence, its every experience I seem to have on Normandy. Itās by far THE WORST campaign.
They may well do, but as a low level player, I canāt do shit. Even trying to flak it in the puma it knew where I was and bam, got OHK.
No⦠Itās about teamwork and taking the objectives by area denial.
I can sit there and have 100+ kills on Berlin and lose or get 30 kills on Moscow and win by simply steamrolling the enemy team.
With regard to Planes, I have a middle of the road computer 1660TI and 7.4
card. My beef Is I never get a chance to select a plane to start a scenerio. They are always selected before I can choose. I believe the most influential air attacks in a game with a plane is immediately starting the game. Same guys always have that opportunity. Changing that would make my playing experience better.
And how many times does that happen? and where is it - Iād like to know??!!
You canāt spawn kill them unless they are still at spawn - if they have left spawn then it isnāt spawn killing.
Also this issue is MAP DESIGN - not the fact that the tanks exist in the first place.
Still a nonsense argument.
Bollocks - TBH spawn camping IS a skill in a game like this - always will be - and apparently whoever this player is is much better at it than you.
And there is nothing at all wrong with killing tanks and machine-gunning infantry while your main gun is reloading - that is definitely showing GOOD SKILL.
And in all this apparently your problem is with ONE INSTANCE⦠which sure as heck is not an indication of spam!
All it looks like is you complaining you got outfought.
Airfield, Invasion, itās very doable because I do it. The Tank spawns are on the opposite sides of very large fields for the first two or three objectives. They donāt really move either. They then move into a killzone about ten or twenty meters past their immediate spawn point where both sides can openly fire on one another. Iāll see if I can show this in a little, but as a Tanker, on that map, itās hell if you canāt get the first shots off and hold the center lane.
As for infantry, yeah, they can get popped by the cannon just as easily, but not as efficiently. Usually I end up taking an AP round or two to try and kill them before I notice, but itās just as easy still.
