This, take the average level of both teams, and the greater the difference, the greater the exp multiplier to the lower level team.
I made all campaigns the maximum level for one of the factions (except Tunisia).
I think the meta just changed, but the balance hasnāt changed. For several months, the mains in each faction have improved their attack strategy to perfection, I have the most ideal Blitzkrieg-setup in Berlin for the Soviets, crushing any defense, even if I am the only human player in the team.
This is normal, since we are all testers here, and it is completely normal that some game ideas turn out to be inapplicable to the current audience, that some elements cannot be darned - they can only be completely changed so that it could be called balance.
I am absolutely sure that the attacking side is in favor right now, despite the reinforcement limit, and this is due to the low online (high percentage of bots), as well as the terrible work of the balancing department.
Idk Maybe its just me but I am fine with this āsolutionā. I agree that they should replace the secondary objective with somethibg the Germans can defend.
Bu then it just extends the duration of the match and not really the win ratio as I had enough noob teams who were not able to clear the first point despite 2k troops (again thats my observation).
Battle report for today:
So far, Iāve lost ALL my matches of the day. EVERY SINGLE ONE. And BADLY.
Iāve lost badly in Tunisia, Axis, invasion, defending (twice)
Iāve lost badly in Tunisia, Axis, invasion, attacking (twice)
Iāve lost badly in Normandy, US, invasion defense (Le Bre)
Eventually, Iāve LOST at the 3rd cap in the ever mentioned Airfield, attacking as US, after capping the 2nd point with 0 tickets left, despite me personally popping about 90% of the balloons before.
While playing the above matches, I completed 2 BP tasks about placing in the top 50% or 20% of the team, so I think I can say I wasnāt the one dragging down my teams.
Here are screenshots proving the defeat as US in Airfield:
So much for anecdotal evidence about āUS dominatingā or āItās impossible to win as defenders in invasionā.
Update: Tunisia Axis, conquest, defeat.
The last couple of days as Axis Iāve had enough stomps on defense in invasions on Tunisia as well- allies either didnāt get past the first point or just barely got past and lost at the second.
Yeah had some excellent games as the Allies defending in Tunisia last night.
Itās like the Axis side isnāt even trying they never got off the first point.
My first move was to take my bike squad engineer and establish a spawn point & ammo dump in a building roughly 60m from the point from then on it was just a Turkey shoot.
Axis players sat in the buildings opposite and tried to shoot which I dealt with easily (love the SMLE) their vehicles were trashed by our tanks who had a good flank on them and by the time they got down to 500 tickets they stopped trying all together.
How dare you confront his anecdotal evidence with facts!!
Shame on you!
Learn to aim at a standing tank, princess, and somehow press the buttons when you get out of the tank. I see you as an expert in every topic, but in your own videos you look like a nerd.
Getting old doesnāt allow you to take any opinions but your own.
Itās nothing personal, itās just the way you always answer people, and I think you should know that you deserve exactly the same answers.
Did you break all the balloons on the airfield? If you do this near the end of the game, so that the number of points does not go over 1000, and you do not lose the ones that give for capturing, the game usually goes more.
At what point does the game end? Looking at the score I would think the last one, because overall the opposing team wasnāt terrible (a lot of enemy respawns were built), although yes, judging by the score you rather won
I may have been not clear enough in my report.
The first part in Tunisia was a series of CRUSHING DEFEATS while playing Axis, BOTH on defending and attacking side of invasion.
Which, while apparently validating Allied supremacy, also disproves the āattackers always winā theory.
(Balancing in Tunisia is hopefully still in assessment phase.)
(For the record, I finally won ONE conquest match later, among other defeats.)
Later, in Normandy, I lost badly with US both defending and attacking, proving that Axis definitely can win, and also that US are NOT unstoppable when attacking, even in the so much dreaded airfield map.
Let me give you a more in-depth report:
At match start, I soon set up a forward outpost in the hangar on the left parallel to the first cap, with a rally, ammo and few sandbag walls (and later, even an MG nest),from which I provided abundant fire on the cap and enemy reinforcements. But on the other side, the team was pushed back until Germans even spawn camped us. It didnāt help that they kept sending Pz.IVs and Pumas against Stuarts.
As I saw that team tickets were decreasing without the slightest progress in capping, I built an AA and started popping balloons until we hit 2000 or so (and downed a Bf110 passing by). Then I joined the push on the right, which was painful because Germans had fortified the cap quite well. Despite my efforts both on the ground and as CAS, when we capped the first point almost all the tickets from balloons were already gone.
The second point (right side) was even worse. Somehow Jerry managed to set up an extremely effective defense line without even the need for CAS. They kept mowing down all our attempts at rushing the cap. I then hopped in my Jumbo and moved in as a forward bunker less than 100m from the cap, blasting 2 Panzers, 2 Pumas and several troops while staying entrenched behind two destroyed Stuarts. Yet no teammates capping. Eventually I was so exasperated that I drove into the cap and jumped out to cap myself, but predictably my tankers were soon overwhelmed.
As I finally respawned in my last squad, our tickets hit 0. Yet somehow, I managed to sneak in the cap and take it, probably because overconfident Jerries had pushed forward to finish us off.
But it was an ephemeral achievement, since as you can imagine that only postponed the inevitable defeat while trying to take the 3rd cap (He111 hangar), despite me providing a hell of suppressing fire from the left and the team having apparently gained a little more momentum.
Hmm, it was a tough fight.
It surprises me that when losing on 3 point played 45 minutes, usually such games take 20-25 minutes.
I can say that I do not like to defend the airfield. Playing 45 minutes to the 3rd point is terrible. My time is limited.
I hope the developers are watching the statistics and will look for different ways to solve the inequalities on the maps and different modes.
From my personal experience the airfield is terrible to defend, I just get tired of not making a mistake for 40+ minutes, and sooner or later make a mistake. If itās just as bad on offense, then the map is bad.
Iāve already explained this several times: tank imbalance, infantry anti-tank imbalance, not all squads carry explosive packs, 50mm at gun is worthless, so the axis gets bombarded by a Jumbo firing HE all game, yea real fun, great game~(if youāre an allied on Normandy), real shame
Iād like to add that the tank system is bs, if you kill off tankers, it still reloads pretty fast
Itās a playerbase problem not a balance problem.
When I first started playing the game Germany would win probably 65% of the time.
I recently went back to Normandy about 3 weeks ago and maxed out US I won most games without too much challenge because I was definitely playing against new players most of the time. Judging by their pumas and lemming tactics. Occasionally Iād bump into some veterans who would turn the game in to an absolute bloodbath or a loss but this was rare.
I simply think that most of the highly experienced players are not playing Axis in Normandy right now as they have already maxed out this campaign.
Doesnāt seem like too much Axis resistance in Tunesia just yet tbh. Got a bit bored on defence yesterday they barely pushed.
I bet this will change when the campaign unlocks properly for everyone. Or when all the people finish maxing brits and swap over.
IMO the problem is that the game has no ādampeningā to prevent wild swings in results - you can go from being completely over-run in 10 minutes to being the one doing the 10 minute over-run in successive game, and both results are relatively common.
Good ātightā games can be had, but the initial conditions for them are relatively rare - and if they do not occur then there is nothing else that is important.
Other wargames (not FPSās afaik) achieve some ādampeningā of extreme results with longer game times, relatively simple but effective AI - especially when defending - so you can usually have a rewarding game vs the AI when you are attacking. Indeed most wargames are set up for this.
Not sure what the answer is, but I suspect it lies somehere in the reasons that AI is spending all itās time spinning on the sport or manically sprinting 5 meters every which-way around like cockroaches on a hot tin roof!
Contrarily to my previous report, for example, yesterday my Axis matches in Tunisia were mostly victories.
And I also witnessed an episode of totally unexpected turning of the tides (unfortunately against me), when in Lether Bahnhof defense with Russians we were bashing the Germans pretty hard and thought we did it by the 3rd point, yet somehow they managed to cap with 0 tickets left and made an egregious comeback, suddenly shifting gear and steamrolling us at 4th and 5th point, defeating us in a matter of minutes.
Havent played that train map recently so dont know if things changed. But month ago that 3rd point only needed 1 axis soldier to cap it in 15 SECONDS.
Its actually easiest attack in berlin thanks to really fast cap times(that only exist in axis attack)
I think a BRUH is due here.
Iāve successfully setup many AT and AA guns without being killed before hand. Its not perfect, but it at least gives us a chance. That or the PaK 88 instead.
Something to give the engineers a chance at getting the Tanks in the grey.
