yeah, it’s sad, man. It’s practically a walk in the park as ally nowadays
And that… says it all. If you want to nerf something, you should try it and gain enough experience with it first. Because this sole line pretty much discredited your suggestion.
I actually won airfield a lot while playing axis, you have just a bad luck on having bad teams. Also building rally points helps. Hangars are actually somewhat protected, and if defenders are capable, you can turn them into a meatgrinder for the allies.
You are either playing with friends, or you haven’t played Normandy recently. Conquest is balanced. Invasion is a joke. And Germany is virtually always the defending team. It should be half/half or close to that, like in the other campaigns.
I have played 10 games on allied side today. It was one conquest, and 9 invasions, all on the attacking side. I won them all. It is broken.
I will continue grinding bronze orders playing Normandy as US, since invasion games take 10-15 minutes, and conquests 5-10 minutes. Super fast and always winning (which comes with a nice xp bonus). It is broken.
Bad teams do not explain this. Whoever plays germany, try their best to build several rally points and they search for my rally points, (because the rest of the team does not care to build any). Even so, bad teams should be on both sides, and not have many games which are super easy victories.
I just bought Tunisia CBT access so I’ll be pretty busy on that front, but may try a few Normandy matches to test.
It is, indeed, a plausible possibility that the bombs nerf (previously one of the greatest cause of deaths) may have shifted the balance needle.
Still, time zone may be making some difference to this day.
Equipment is not a problem. I’m f2p and I managed to equip every axis infantryman with ep in Tunesia.
Problem is players that are either stupid or there is not enough of them. For example yesterday I had a match where I was the only one destroying tanks.
Most Axis teams makes me question whatever my team full of AI or not.
Bad teams completely explains it.
It has always been like this when there was an exodus to a new campaign, or reopening an old one - every. single. time.
For Moscow, when Berlin was occasionally released to test, when Normandy arrived - every one of them saw one or other side lose more players and have the teams filled in by AI.
The importance of players to how the match goes overwhelms that of equipment.
Germany suffers.
All jokes aside, I have finally been leveling Normandy axis (lvl 23) after maxing allies for a while and really the only problem I am having is trash teams. But really it makes sense. All the experienced German players are in the Berlin campaigns (Or Tunisia)
Also Normandy is the campaign most people tend to flock to for their first campaign so its even more annoying because you get really new players “trying” to defend while you work your ass off for the win. But idk, I have been liking it especially with the addition of new medals because you really get a lot of XP these days
No the allies equipment does not need nerfing this is enlisted not call of duty or battlefield there isn’t really a single piece of equipment that is considered overpowered in my eyes as everything on every n nation is easy to use and easy to kill with even though having there differences. Which is a good thing as everything feels satisfying to use.
This is an issue with the Allied players getting spawns down fast and rushing the point while the axis camp at the back, don’t put spawn points down and simply do not get on the point fast enough. Its a matter of the allied players have more sense than the axis at times however i have been in matches when the allied have been rather bad and not even capped the first point.
I do not believe there is anything to fix as it is not an issue with the game it is an issue with the skill and competence of the players not knowing how to capture points. As capturing point requires some of these things like flanking, well placed smoke grenades, placing spawn points on the flanks (preferably more than one more the better), decent tank support, decent plane support, ammunition on the way and on the point and fortification’s on the point to provide cover and make it more difficult for the defenders to get back on the point. When you have the entire attacking team doing this in conjunction the defenders just get overwhelmed rather quickly. I remember when i first started playing the Germans on Normandy most of the dday matches would be bad due to the attacking forces mindlessly running forward to the point and doing almost none of the things above. However now the attacking allies seem to be abit better.
So all in all no point in changing anything within the game its the players that need to be educated on how to play better.
I hope that all makes sense and I haven’t repeated myself >.<
It’s easier to attack. You just need to be on point for 15-20 seconds every now and then you will win. For the defense side, you always have to be on point, which makes you vulnerable.
In Normandy, attackers get 250-330 (330 on the first Aerodrome point) points per point. I recently played Moscow and there attackers get no extra points at all (or so few that I didn’t notice it). 250-300 is a tremendous amount of extra reclamation.
Normandy maps themselves are not built for defense. Often defenders run longer from respawn than attackers.
Overnight I wrote a post on the Russian-speaking branch, I can send if you want to translate it using google and read my thoughts, but here are screenshots of battles, which by all accounts I had to win, but lost (quality is terrible, I play not from my computer and can not copy screenshots).
These were not defeats “on the brink” in every battle the enemy had 300-400 points left, which means they EASILY won
I only recently found out that later objectives give no tickets if the attackers get them while still having more than a certain amount.
However, Normandy is 250 points per point. sometimes after 70-80 kills on the first point I see that the Allies have 750 tickets and think “If they take the point, the game will start all over again, although in Moscow 70-80 kills is enough to end the match”
Yes, my friend, I have similar feelings. Yesterday on the Russian-language thread I created a thread with my thoughts. You can translate it with google. It really is easier to attack.
After the update hits, and when I’ll take a break from grinding Tunisia, I’ll go back to Normandy and check both sides.
I’m moderately trustful, though. Seen the past history, should the devs notice a consistent shifting in victories/losses ratio between two factions in general or in specific maps, they’ll eventually tweak something (tickets, spawn locations, capping speed) to try and restore equilibrium.
Normandy does need some rework on a few points.
To be balanced , everything in the game should have a counter of some level. And these counters exist in historical terms too.
The Jumbo’s sitting in the ‘grey’ pounding on the other team with impunity could be solved if they allowed our Level 2 Engineers to build the FLAK 88 vs what they currently use. That would prevent a type of scenerio which gives the Jumbo Immunity while being able to pummel the Axis Lines. That, and they could give use tanks like the Jadgpanther which was present in that theater as well. Perfectly suited to punching a whole through everything the Allies had, up to and including the M26 Pershing.
As, well, I do think they should make the ‘starting’ or spawn locations dynamic. It is the only Campaign where I see absolute spawn camping by US Players. Either my entire squad is dead via HVAR Rockets or tanks that know exactly where we pop up. There is little you can do on a map when your squad appears and then suddenly is gone before you can do a thing. Their Airpower with those rockets is off the charts more damaging and our known spawn locations makes it so easy to have them take us out.
My wife and I yesterday had it happen again in the swamp where a Pair of Jumbo’s sat and just punched holes into our spawning troops, and then when we got past that finally, it was rockets and bombs from two planes. Its crazy.
Airfield, is the only map I will ever leave as soon as I see it load. I am sorry, but there is no reasonable explaniation for why the allies can get thousands of more tickets to fight when the Axis already do not have very defenisible positions. I could understand if it was due to the fact we had dozens of MG42 bunkers etc, but not on that map. I’ve had multiple defeats where I am 400+ kills…15+Tanks/Planes gone, and lost because I just cannot, nor can my wife with me, chew through 3000 troops…
There are fixes that are needed, because at the end of the day , as I’ve seen with many games in all my years, if the experience is negative too much for one side, you lose players, and eventually those that abuse the meta in that way, help condemn the game.
I don’t care if I lose a close game. I’ve had ones on conquest in Moscow that were seconds apart (so much so that it said Defeat and Victory at the same time on the closing screen) I love losing those games, I feel like I did my best. I also hate winning games that is a ROFLMAO stomp of the other team. The only way a game thrives in through balance. I want this to be around for a long time as I enjoy it.
Anywho, /rant
Seems very flawed to me.
If the jumbo is sitting in the grey, it’s probably not moving and you would need to build the 88 where it’s can see the jumbo- and where the jumbo can see it much better before it goes up because the 88 is huge.
Likewise I’m not so sure the 88 can pen the jumbo’s front plate. And if you can hit the side you may as well use a real AT gun.
In general I’ve always been skeptical of the idea of the 88 flak in Enlisted because it’s too big of an immobile target.
Interesting since the SOLE reason for the ballons was the win/ loss ratio on Airfield used to be… pure mess as Airfield is the best defender-map in France.
I’ve setup AT Guns in positions in other maps to great success. The 88 Might be a big target, but so what? It can punch a hole through most targets easily. If it can Pen the Pershing, it can Pen a Jumbo.
Its tactical how you have to set it up, but just the Possibility of being able to build it would help.
Unfortunately I might not have the longevity of players on Airfield where it was deemed necessary to have the Balloons, all I can say right now, is it is not reasonable to have to face 3x as many troopers on that Map. If they buffed the allies because of issues, they went too far. Which is a common thing to do in the gaming industry for adjustments.
It won’t be able to hit anything to begin with because it can’t move and everyone can see it while it’s still being built.
