BR II and III Germany is unplayable at the moment (and don’t start the wehraboo main slander; I am tier 3 on all factions), and I believe those two items are way too overpowered for the tier, and possibly even for the game. I know Darkflow is from Latvia, and they want to make the Russians better than the other nations because of their proximity to Russia and possibly relation to government too. However, there is a limit. And it has been exceeded.
There are a few solutions that can be made. First one is the simplest, which is uptier the two guns to BR III. Yes, I know, a 5 round semi-auto in BR III. Japan had one and was still usable. Plus, the Fedorov does more damage so it’s essentially a mosin with semi-auto rof. The second solution is just to remove the guns entirely. That requires no rebalancing or anything else. However, the backlash from the community might be an issue. The third option is a bit more interesting…
Give Germans Better BR II SMGs
This is something we have been asking for a very long time. The MP40, frankly, doesn’t cut it, nor does the Beretta M1. In what world does a 5.8 damage gun with 500rpm compete with a 5.6 damage gun with 750 rpm? None. So, either down-tier the MP35 and lessen the recoil (and upgrade rpm to 600) or buff the FNAB to have 600rpm. This way, at least, these two guns compete (somewhat) with the PPS-42. But it’s still a way off the Uragan and PPS-43, but it’s a start.
Or alternatively, (i forgot the name of it, but it’s basically the PPSH for the germans, was it the suomi?) add that one to the tech tree, except with a 32-round mag. Your choice.
The mp35 in real life had about 800-900 rpm and seemed to have almost no recoil so if it can be around that area when upgraded with the same damage profile it has now but also tweak the recoil to make the rpm manageable then the mp35 can be easily the smg to counter the ppSh box.
The fnab in this case would also be good if the rpm could be increased. And it doesn’t even have any noticeable kick to it either so only the rpm is to change.
I play a lot of level two Soviets and Germans, and I would disagree that the Fedorov 1912 is too OP for level two. However the Uragan is a bit overkill for the Soviets at level two as they already are dominant with the PPS-42 and PPS-43 which are both better then any level two German smg. Instead of bumping up Soviet weapons to level three, I am again going to suggest that DF do the right thing and adjust the German FNAB 43 to it’s correct ROF range between 600-837 (I would bump it to 600 base and 690 max, so it matches the PPS-42). If DF would just give guns their “most commonly used” specs I don’t think there would be so many calls for rebuffing weapons. As it is, a quick search tells me that DF over buffed the PPS-43 and under buffed the FNAB 43.
The MP35 also needs to be dropped to level two as I don’t know many people using it at level three.
BTW, this is what I get when I search the PPS-43. Quote…“The PPS-43 typically has a cyclic rate of fire of 500-600 rounds per minute. However, some sources report a slightly higher rate of fire, with one measurement indicating 804 rpm”. So it should be reworked IMOP to 600.
I dont really mind if germut weapons have less rof, they could easily decrease the recoil & dispersion for low rof guns and give that way a proper fighting chance against high rof stalinium weapons.
Perhaps if something else arguably usable would be added to BR3, ahem Kp31.
But generally, id say the better option would be to buff existing BR2 guns such as mp38/40 & berettas with less recoil & dispersion, that way they would be better in “unique” way compared to sovjets.
Also from new players perspective, id say its quite burden to grind thru 10-18 obsolete guns in german low br, so before foldering atleast half of them id say the better option is to buff existing guns rather than adding new ones.
German guns already are unique in the fact they have less recoil and (slightly) higher damage. All I’m asking is either the FNAB, the MP38/40, and/or the MP35 have the rof increased slightly to 600 base. This still gives them a unique play style to the soviets while evening the playing field.

mp35i is simplification of bmp34 which has 540 ROF

although this book has gotten things wrong before it mentions 650 ROF(seen some people mention that it may be advertised ROF, but not tested)
Unfortunately not. Moving/deleting these guns is not an option. DF literally made the Fedorov for BR2, the Uragan (while not asked for or needed on BR2, I literally cannot even reacll any suggestions for it) was also put there and I doubt it will be moved. Howerver, a 80 rpm increase is not really game changing. I hate the power creep of BR2 (which is happening for all factions) as well, but these guns do not deserve BR3.
I think of a future where the Soviets fight Japan, the Japanese have powerful equipment, the Soviets should not be weakened. I agree with the German buff, I don’t think adding more stuff is a good idea (the German TT is already too acrowded and the developers should spend their time on more necessary things), the current weapons should be buffed. Also a good tank in the US BR2 and a decent MG in the Soviet BR2. This way the BR2 will be balanced.
Not really. Since the Uragan and Fedorov are new, all the sweats from high BR have come down to try out the new weapons (that’s everyone from every faction). Since I just want to continue grinding to higher BRs instead of researching basically sidegrades, I always get pumped with the noobs (I play BR III and the Soviet BR II lineup still destroys the Germans).
you are basically describing playerbase balance problem and not weapon balance problem. if we had just looked at weapon balance, on BR2 it was on soviet side even before uragan and fedorov and adding them didnt really change much.
Yeah but I think the PPS had more dispersion, whereas the Uragan fires faster with the same damage and less dispersion. And before the Fedorov, the Russians had the Winchester, which was already the best BR II rifle period.
Well it just felt more accurate and harder hitting, that’s all. But yeah, German weaponry needs a buff to deal with this, as they are now outclassed by the allies as well with the M1A1 being down tiered too.
Soviets wanted a BR2 semi-auto rifle for a long time so uptiering that would be kinda cruel, it should get a minor damage nerf (about 10%) and better visual recoil instead, but stay BR2.
