U.S. assault rifles ENG Job №3

INTRODUCTION

Despite the fact that you didn’t really appreciate my last thread, @Debayan001 suggested I make a thread about US assault rifles. Why not? The US currently has no such weapons in the pumping branch and not in events.

NOTE

A great feature of assault rifles is the intermediate cartridge. In full understanding during WWII the US did not have such a cartridge, the closest thing was the 30 Carbine. Therefore, the weapon using the 30 Carbine cartridge will be considered as an assault rifle.

U.S. ASSAULT RIFLES

Bendix Hyde Carbine:

The Bendix Aviation Corporation submitted this rifle, designed by George Hyde, to the trials US Light Rifle Program (then the M1 Carbine wins the contest). The Hyde Carbine performed well in the trials, from which the committee recommended modifications to the carbine:

M1944 Hyde Carbine:

This is another George Hyde creation. This gun also uses the 30 Carbine cartridge. Some parts of the gun were borrowed from Thompson, which George Hyde liked very much. The M1944 Hyde Carbin also has a quick barrel change feature, just like the MG 42. This decision was made because of the high rate of fire, which was going to cause the barrel to heat up. To ease production and reduce weight, the M1944 Hyde Carbin used stamped steel components, making it versatile, reliable and more comfortable to carry:

Т 29:

The Guide Lamp Division of General Motors Corporation, which manufactured the M3 submachine gun, after studying the StG 44, decided to adapt the M3 to the 30 Carbine cartridge. The new M3 under the designation was slightly modified, as later prototypes received an extended barrel. During testing in the fall of 1944, a number of defects were discovered, but by that time the M2 Carbine had already appeared, and further work on the T 29 was impractical:

T 29 late, right side view, apparently the magazine is not fully preserved.

Characteristics Hyde Carbine:
|Rate of fire - 400 rounds/min
|Weight - 3.77 kg/8.5 Ib

M2 Carbine:

The M2 Carbine is of course already in our game, but now with the appearance of the T 20 it would make sense to move it to the pumping branch as an assault rifle.

personally, I would like to see this : (https://youtu.be/uwy1QYTkWU8) as an analogue of the Fedorov machine gun, perhaps with a little more damage due to the larger caliber, but due to the large gas piston, it can be assumed that the cartridge fired by this machine is smaller than that of a rifle of the same caliber

here is a drawing of another model of the same rifle and I think this is the only reliable image of the magazine (which I found) probably suitable for this machine

I think it would be better suited as a light machine gun, similar to the BAR/SIG Ke7 :upside_down_face:.
