Hi!
I noticed a little hint how to destroy every tank even moving. You do not need to throw a charge at once. Tap left mouse button and hold it about 6 seconds until it will be thrown automaticaly. Then charge blows in 1 second.
For me its a quite easy way to destroy. What would you think? https://youtu.be/QmgKFhGmrfE
Throwing automatically means you will take damage from the blast. Throwing a second earlier means they still cant escape but you dont take damage
First of all, you usually kill yourself by doing that or at least take considerable damage.
Secondly, as a person who uses tanks a lot I can say that if you get blown up like this on regular basis, its you not using tank correctly and going rambo style where you can get easily outflanked and killed by infantry/enemy tank and thus its only your fault.
Of course, there can be somebody hiding in a trench or buildings around sometimes and then there isnt much you can do… but again, that is in 50% of cases your fault as well so…
I say leave it as it is (as I said, I´m going against my own interests since I play tankers a lot). It punishes person who throws charge like this, it punishes tanker who gets in such situation in the first place AND it can be used as a tool to get rid of spawncampers or rambo style tankers. That is just win/loose-loose (applied for careless tankers)-win-win situation.
Tanks are made to support infantry (by getting rid of enemy infantry or tanks) usually in safe distance to not get blown up by charges. They are not meant to rush into the first lines without proper cover or places where they can be outflanked so easily.
What the OP described is what happens now, it is up to the player to decide what to do with throwing them.
Yes, and I presume he based this thread on his previous statements in regards to explosive charges. We already had discussion on the matter in different thread.
Also this thread have suggestions tag, not a mess room. So I presume, author thinks this is wrong and wants to discuss it in dedicated thread.
Personally I don’t like the whole auto Throw thing.
What’s wrong with blowing yourself up if you hold it too long?
Lol, true, but it means inexperienced players will do it a lot otherwise and we don’t really know the length of the fuse without timing anyway.
@47094123 True, your post just didn’t make all that much sense, i like the explosive packs, but Molotov’s and flamethrowers need to do much more damage.
How inexperienced though? Literal no other first person shooter does that.
It would be a tiny minority of complete and utter idiots who wouldn’t learn after the first time it blew up in their hand that the timer starts as soon as you hold the mouse button. And I don’t think they should be catering to such a tiny section of the community that I don’t think even exists. I dunno maybe I have too much faith in humanity that I think people will be able to figure it out lol.
I hold LMB, count to 4, release. Works every time. It’s not hard either.
“whenever you make something idiot proof, nature comes up with a new and improved idiot.”
It is so, tank got to cover infantry on the safe distance. Sometimes however tanks got to go closer like ina a first village in qonquest mode. And then it start looks like tank cemetry. Players cant go another tank soon and others doesnt know about hazard. So they keep dying (of my charges).
I make not a good tryes and kill myself but most time you survive. Even if not you can see more expirienced player use this trick:
It is so. And if it blows in your hands after 6-7 seconds it will be more hardcore then now with automaticaly throwing.
Just to make it clear - this isnt automtic throwing on the gifs. Authomatic throwing wont allow you to do this, as dynamite will explode too early and too close to the player causing death pretty often.
Automatic grenade drop has cons and pros and requires no change, simply because allowing people to hold it until it explodes will create another tactic of suicide where people will simply move close to the tank or jump on top of it holding the grenade till it blows, which means people will abuse this anyway, while ‘throwing’ is still harder than just waiting until its blows.
Furthemore this suicide shit gonna hurt soldiers fights too. People already use it actually, however its delayed right now allowing (sometimes) to get in cover. Disabling autothrowing will remove this delay making every single soldier to a moving bomb.
Indeed, there is no way to avoid suicidal blows. It starts to be annoying but it have historical roots. Some people realy done it.
Your thorows more pro and you do it about 4-5 seconds. I always throws after 6 and survive like 50/50. Even if I die its not a big deal to sucrifice one of your boot team…
Thats for sure, i always rather sucrifice than waste one more grenade
I`ve seen less tanks on the battlefield past fw days. Maybe thats why people doesnt like to die so often.
If the hand delay will be removed at least it gives a tank player chance to GTFO action. For now you just doesnt feel good in a city or village maps. Every corner can hide exploser.
And it will remove suiciders even it was IRL
The TNT charges need to be removed. Only something like a “sapper” class should be carrying those. We already have tanks and anti-tank weapons in the game, no reason for EVERY soldier on the battlefield to be able to destroy a tank anytime they want.
Only 1 class can effectively deal with aircraft, the engineer. So tell me why is it, the most basic of “trooper” with 1 item that everyone has access to is able destroy a tank with little to no effort?
Medkit and the TNT charge are arcade as fuck.
This will lead to one player fielding a tank squad for way too long unless the opponents have atleast one player with the said class of soldier . And the way Enlisted works, tanks have a huge impact on win and loss.
This also means introducing another class of soldiers apart from the bombers for taking down tanks. Problem here is, you unlock tanks at the start. So, unless you get this new anti tank class at the beginning, an effective counter for tanks ceases to exist in players vs AI squad matches.
From what I’ve heard, mortars can damage tanks. In that case, so it’s reasonable to see explosive packs blowing up tanks. Which it does perfectly now. It makes the tanks weary about infantry and forces them to be careful about marching into a spawn or the cap zones.
Throwing a huge TNT bundle like a grenade is a joke. Why even bring frag grenades?
TNT should be more powerful, but only able to be thrown very short distances or placed directly on the ground like it is in Post Scriptum.
Molotovs should be the thrown tank-killer, though from what I’ve seen I’m still not entirely sure if they properly damage tanks or not. I still use them whenever possible but if it kills it takes quite a while.
