Balance & Variety: How to Breathe Life into ‘Non-Meta’ Classes?"
Hey there, soldiers!
Right now in Enlisted, many classes are left in the shadows due to the brutal META, which kills gameplay variety. Let’s discuss some ideas to make underused squads—like medics, machine gunners, snipers—more flexible and useful, while also improving logistics for motorcycles and armored cars.
1. Medic – A Second Chance for the Last Man Standing
Problem: Medics aren’t impactful enough since they lack an engineer/AT soldier.
Proposal:
- Allow reviving ONE squadmate (the last one you controlled).
Conditions:- 15-20 sec timer after death.
- Doesn’t work if killed by a headshot (Battlefield style).
This adds strategy without making them OP.
(“No more ‘oops, my whole squad’s gone’ moments!”)
2. Machine Gunner – Ammo Support on the Go
Problem: MG gunners are too dependent on engineer boxes.
Proposal:
- Let them toss small ammo pouches (3-4 uses per battle).
Refill mechanics:- If mag has <50 rounds → full refill.
- If >50 rounds → only +50.
Reward: Points for resupplying (but no spam).
(“Because running out of bullets mid-spray is just sad.”)
3. Sniper – Scout, Not Just a Camper
Problem: Snipers contribute little to the team.
Proposal:
- Add a temporary respawn point (BATTLEFIELD style).
- 1-2 spawns, then it breaks.
Restrictions: - Only allies can spawn on it (not the sniper themselves).
- Snipers can’t respawn on their own point.
This encourages scouting, not just passive play.
- 1-2 spawns, then it breaks.
Bonus Idea (by @ChaosCrash13):
- Let guerilla’s (partisans), paratroopers (no crate), and bikers (no bike) spawn on it.
(“Now even the ‘forgotten’ classes get some love!”)
4. Motorcycles & Armored Cars – Mobile Supply Hubs
Problem: They only refill ammo—let them restock meds too!
Proposal:
- Allow them to resupply nearby soldiers (ammo and meds).
- Especially useful for APCs—turning them into rolling support stations.
