Time to practice your landing skills lads

If aircraft carriers in the Pacific won’t be another fly thru box (like now ammo refill), then it’s time to practice landing on them.

Here’s a tip for someone who never tried this before:
Reduce engine power to around 20-40%
Slow down to below 400 tas
Put flaps to “landing” (on pc it’s keybind 2)
Extend landing wheels (G)
Try to land as horizontally as possible
Reduce engine power to 0 once you touch the ground
Spam wheel brakes (B)
Once you stop completely, turn off the engine/s (most often there isn’t keybind set to turning them on/off, so recheck keybinds in settings)

congrats, now grab yourself a cookie

the emperor we love, the emperor we trust

This is the moment I have been waiting for:
Due to the low XP given as an aircraft I can finally scream in front my PC…

BAAAANZAAAAAAAIIIII!!!

And will probably sleep on the sofa the next couple of days.

The great filter returns.
Remember pacific maps on war thunder where you usually see 2 people crash during carrier takeoffs every game, to say nothing of landings.

You dont need to

Keo said aircraft carriers latch on to tail hooks, which means it will be caught and stopped immediately

Only half the fighters in the Pacific campaign have tail hooks, so…

worth.

regret nothing .

In first person braking will be the least of people’s worries. It’s probably not that bad of a change, all things considered, I just wish they dealt with suicide bombers first. Those are a lot more dumb and disruptive than anything else you can do with an airplane.

Man, something gone terrible wrong when I used those brakes that I hadnt been aware of since ever xd

Why brakes literally destroy my plane man? too fast for them? Little help plz;]

Looks like you blew off a flap by moving it to the landing position at too high of a speed. Brakes had nothing to do with it.
You’re way too fast, I wouldn’t try them over 200kmh

looks like your flaps ripped off, try deplyoing them at slower speeds.
also side note: you will never land in this strip, tried many times, not with fast planes. Fly a little further away, and look for long and clear hills to land

i clicked H soo i gues st has

,air brakes" whatever it is

know that just testing why my wing explode after clicking bloody h
did this multiple times and evry single one it f brakes in clear air

hm, I barely ever used air brakes, I just let plane slow down by itself by reducing engine power. So try that maybe?

that is not the problem. I was told to use some kind of brakes so i did it. and it didnt work. guess i will be kamikazing all the time in new campagain;]

there’s a difference between ground (wheel) brakes, and air brakes. In the post I was talking about using wheel ones, once you touch the ground

oh thats right there are ather kind of brakes just all the way down in controls thx
should be next to each other;]
still there is question what those air one does except destroying your plane;]

FWs don’t have airbrakes, you dropped your landing flaps which are only designed to engage at low speed.
