See the title, I still want to say that the Panther gun bounces off of T34 so often its just straight up ridiculous, and then IF the Panther penetrates it does very little dmg, compared to T34 85 and tigers basically 90% one hit kills.
The Panther was historically speaking a better anti tank vehicle than the Tiger, T34 85 and even the IS tanks, these are FACTS, it really hurts my ww2 enthusiastic heart to see unrealistic balance .
not always, but thats also not my main point, the way berlin works, is that there is always so much rubble laying around, that tank combat will usually result in shooting the turrets, and the T34 turret has an awful hitbox and requires something like a “tiger tanks gun” to kill them reliably.
its like only 15% of the front surface can reliably be penetrated “with a good dmg hit”
and historically a tank was killed when the crew bailed which was usually after one penetrating it also panther has 29g of explosive in it’s AP shells
I like using the Tiger instead of Panther exactly for this In a duel, it’s the best tanker who wins. Both the t34-85 and the Tiger can destroy each others very easily with one well placed shot. With Panther sometimes it’s ping pong
I am using my Tiger only, even tho my Panther SHOULD be a better tank, no skill issue here just “logic”. Now start thinking instead of posting nonsense.
Really? the panther indeed is a better tank wen come to survive but his main gun is more weak than the tiger one in enlisted so you have to aim the t34 weak spot , you can simply check the stat and try&die&learn instead of bring your skill issue on the forum
@gastanofrizzi is correct in his explanation. The Panther has WAY better survivability than the tiger. But his canon is made to PIERCE a lot, it does a bit less post pen damage than the tiger gun because of this… But still does enough. It’s easy to 1 shot t34-85 or 2 shot it.
The best way to kill the t34-is1 with panzer/panther is aim in the left part of the turret or in the back of her for disable the turret or ammo rack him, otherwise as you said is a pong pong
the panthers has big " weakspots " and terrible traverse. compensates with speed and gun. but… speed in enlisted it’s not always relevant for all occasions.
hence why the tiger is better.
somewhat… ok traverse, good weapon, and almost unpenetrable when penned.
( i mean, still up to preferences of course ).
Exactly
It’s ping pong sometimes when I can only aim right of the canon because of wreckages. For some reason, right of the canon hits detonate ammunition less often. The Panther is more than capable of piercing the front hull of the t34-85 too, so @GeneralBrus if you face a less experienced t34-85 head on, aim there. An experienced t34-85 driver will angle however, so turret, left of the canon is guaranteed to destroy.
Historically the panther was a much better tank than the tiger, Remembering of course that the tiger one was being withdrawn from Service in 44 The effective frontal armor on the panther is much better than that which is on the Tiger, and the Panthers gun is much more lethal when it comes to penetration, and it’s more effective at longer ranges as well, the Tigers shell though being larger does do more damage once it gets inside but the difference should not be that significant.
Irl the Panthers Tura traverse speed for a complete 360 was about 19 seconds, more or less the same thing for the king tiger, the tiger one depending on what reference you’re looking at could do about the same thing but it’s traverse speed was variable depending on what its revolutions were, the engine revolutions it could be as low as 60 seconds or something like 45 seconds or as fast as about 19 seconds depending on what the engine was doing.
Something else to bear in mind is that the ammunition loadout model doesn’t seem to be particularly accurate with regard to historical loadouts so comparing penetration effects and game to real life values I think you can only be done just so far because again the ammunition is not model appropriately as far as I can tell
