a bit of context
so… let’s avoid to even mention the whole fiasco of the april fool event.
however, it did had one interesting feature, and those were throwable weapons.
in the event, you are/were able to throw pistols, tomahawks and few others.
since i believe said feature is cool, and the only redeeming quality of that event, which i personally think it could benefit enlisted base game as well.
so, let’s begin with the suggestion.
Main Suggestion:
- Introduce throwable knives in the base game.
throwable knives will work in the grenade slot. and you will get 3 of them per soldier ( that has the knives equipped in the grenate slot ).
they will somewhat function ( for those who didn’t touched the april fool. which i cannot blaim ) like impact grenades. they will kill the single opponent who gets hit by said knives.
but, in order to not be op or stupidly easy to thow, you’ll first need to equip them, then hold them, to then throw them.
it’s not immediate as it sound.
not instant with a push of the button. i see how those could be too op.
it’s… very simple.
speaking of knives,
the germans could get the Nahkampfmesser
the italians could get the M39 Airborne Knife
japan could get the Harakiri Knife
the soviets could get the NR-40
The americans could get the Ka-bar
The british could get the Fairbairn skyes knives ( which are already in the game )
P.S: i’m well aware that most of the knives above were not used as throwing knives.
but the arguments pretty much goes out of the window when it comes to historical authenticity so… i’m not sure how few knives being thrown would be much different or worse than X or Y
Why would you need throwing knives?
well… in all honesty. seems a bit a waste to let said feature go to waste.
sure the event was a flaw in every major way, but in my eyes, i see throwing knives having potential.
and with few models, we could get them inside the game.
they would be ideal for partisans or commando squads / anyone who has a silenced weapon.
a way to kill soldiers in a more stealth way.
but, if you don’t like them.
you can always not use them.
and that is all from me.
take care.
