The way it should be put is the difference to the default squads given or unlockable, such comparision must take place when they are fresh more importantly & later on (progressed), this is to see the gap & disparity & based on that a judgement would surface.
Currently it doesn’t stands in it’s favor, when faster progression argument is brought you only need to take a look at the Premium account bonuses & if that isn’t huge already I don’t know what is. Even when looking at it regardless of the Premium account bonuses the fact that a player have an access to additional SMG squad is a thing, these are one of the best squads in the game even considering progression only.
It’s go even deeper than that but the point here is, the marketing & monetization scheme that is used in War Thunder is inapplicable here without great harm to the game’s health.
Take a look at the Premium account bonuses leaked (if you want I can post it on this down later), basically double everything, if from a subscription like scheme they aren’t getting enough when the disparity is really huge I don’t know what would stop them from breaking stuff.
Wait this mean that they can bring 7 Assaulter soldiers ?, if this is the case then this is purely counted as P2W in the same consensus the Premium account bonuses are (through being way excessive).
In all unlockable squads in the game you cannot get more than just 4 of that respective squad soldiers (with the exception of the engineer squad for some reason -this isn’t a plus point though-), furthermore it’s important to know what is the maximum or what other soldiers that Premium squad can fit in, generally it’s really good (ultimate) if such squad could bring 1 engineer & 1 radio operator, if such squads allow to get them (the default assaulter squad don’t allow to bring radio operators) it is a P2W. Regardless, the fact alone that you can bring the squad with all soldiers of that respective squad type is just too much.
yes sadly which could actually be a disaadvanatge in the actual assaulter squads but these are so powerful that i believe it’s worth it losing an engineer a sniper and a gunner in most situations at least
Note that there is an upgraded perk tab means if a new player engage in the system as early as possible he will take even longer to get to such results (discarding the RNG factor for both) or more accurately he will be at disadvantage doing so.
That’s right, but at the moment you have to buy the closed beta, that’s just now in this bundle with the premium troops in it (or changed). you could have just offered the beta. Something else about the prem. Troops: they are all at the maximum level, of course they have greater advantages than 1,2-star troops. If the Prem troops are really as OP as I said, they will definitely be revised
of course they will. this system it’s just like any war thunder premium tank.
exept, gaijin didn’t understand very well that the same system cannot be used in such game.
basically, they give you almost everything, very powerfull at the beginnign, and than later on when almost many people actually bought the vehicle, it will be nerfed. taking money in the first place.
I have to be honest, I didn’t buy the package because of the troops, but so that I can take part in the CB. What Gaijin did well is that you can buy the packages with gaijin coins, so I bought the package too.
Of course, we mustn’t forget that Enlisted is still in the CB, a lot of things could change before the open beta
Too many people doesn’t realize this fact & the most worrying side is Gaijin & the game’s developers, this is very much compared to max tier premiums but even greater. I wonder what is the time left till release, regardless being long & they are starting such schemes at the moment is as worrying as the game releasing tomorrow (short window).
It could be still sorta monetized by the Premium account scheme (subscription) but definitely not at the leaked rates, 15% would be it but again at that point why bother which is the problem of doing a good pay for convenience without harming the game’s health.
More over on the packs, had they needed a bigger sample size of players they could’ve invited more that they see fit to help the development.
I own the German premium starter squad. It’s not even in my lineup right now, because after a long time I finally realized that having that squad be 1/4 of my playable lineup means I have one squad less that I can use to train up my soldiers. By removing it and putting in the 80th Inf. Regiment squad instead (non-premium assault squad) I was able to put four more players into my rotation, which means four more players worth of new perks training so I can send guys through the academy quicker and improve my overall force.
Not to mention by removing the premium squad and putting the 80th back in the lineup I was able to put a sniper, a machine gunner, and an engineer back into the lineup in order to continue developing those classes more than I was able to with the one slot here or there that they got in my other squads.
I personally haven’t found the premium squads to be OP. Sure, if I’m in a room and the Soviet premium squad rushes in with their SMGs they’re going to wipe my squad, but then if I rush in with an SMG I’m going to do the same to them. I’ve never had any trouble picking off Soviet premium soldiers with my non-premiums. I win some, I lose some. The smarter I play, the better I do, even against the premiums.
Anyhow, yeah I’ve liked my German premium squad, but looked at over the whole progression, rather than just in a particular battle, they are more of a hindrance because since they’re already maxed out both individually and as a squad, every second I spend playing my premium dudes and squad I’m making zero progress with everyone else. It’s why they’re no longer in my lineup, and that’s not likely to change very soon. They just take up space when they’re in there that can be better used to develop my other squads, play more classes, improve new weapon types, etc.
Im lvl 23 and i have completely stopped to use premium squad since lvl 18 as i didnt really enjoyed it anymore. This was mainly because i enjoyed it only for exp gain provided during my campaign. Sure, these guys are strong and weapons are kinda cool, but i really didnt liked playing 7 units of the same type. Whoever says 7 assaulters are OP - is wrong. In fact its a very limited squad with much less options left.
I would rather see that squad as ‘customizible profile’, a slot that would allow me to create my own team setup, out of all unlocked classes, aaaand maybe udditionally to this EXP bonus for this squad, towards usability and constistency during whole campaign and even after. I would be interested in bying at least 3 such slots, while im definitely not interested in bying 3 ‘limited’ squads with ‘op’ (thats what they said) guns and perks. Depending on the implementation that Need may rise up to 12. See, i’ve sold myself 12 premium packs. Just make it.
However, they are already maxed out, aka they are already at the goal of what you want to achieve. Unless your goal in the game is to just progress forever, instead of hitting some kind of end goal.
While interesting, that would defeat the entire purpose of using historical squads, as the squads historically wouldn’t cross over that much. You generally would have mostly rifleman, with only 1-3 specialized soldiers of the same type only in reality so I guess that’s kiiinda already ingame?
I’m afraid it would also be actual meta/P2W setups, as it would be the only squad slot/type that can be fully customized towards a perfect setup, unless those are also provided for normal squads by offerring more optional slots like the engineer/sniper/gunner slots we unlock for the assaulter squad.
But that is my goal. These matches don’t take that long, and there’s not much that you get from winning them other than progress. When there’s something to develop, something to make progress on, there’s a feeling that playing is working towards something. If you’re already there, there’s no reason for me to keep playing.
I’m not saying everyone thinks that way, but I do. In Warthunder I typically need to keep working towards a goal unless I’m just playing with some friends. So after I got some nation fully researched with all vehicles, I’d more or less stop playing that nation, and play some other nation that still had something new to unlock.
With this game, the progression of developing squads and leveling up soldiers is really all there is. Take that away and you get bored with the game after a while. That’s the way my mind works anyway. I liked playing my premium assaulters, but after a while it got frustrating knowing that, other than campaign credit, all the playing of my premium squad was doing diddly squat for all my other squads and soldiers. So I swapped them out. Now I’ve got three different infantry squads with different mixes of classes, plus my tank squad, and no matter which squad I’m playing, I’m making progress.
That is why I think the game needs to be drastically changed.
A lot of good games have very little progress, but survive simply through gameplay appeal (think battle royales, TF2, etc)
Any good game keeps you playing because it is fun. Not because you can get the next shiny thing, as why would you play a game that deep down simply isn’t fun?
