But overall I do appreciate the feedback y’all. Some cons I had not considered so I appreciate those being brought up. And though we have some disagreements, it’s clear we all love this game and only want what’s best for it.
In the end, whatever the “fix” is - it’s a better game experience for a majority of the players.
Yes, this is a beta and the game is not in a remotely perfect state. However, the players who leave actually acerbate the issue (make it worse) for those who stay and play.
If more people are “forced” or “encouraged” to stay and play, even on maps they don’t prefer, then the maps will be more competitive.
Obviously, some things that are fixed in the game will make the experience better to where less deserting will happen, but I honestly don’t think anything short of a reward or punishment will truly make a real difference. That’s just my opinion, though.
I do know, from just looking at other games, that deserting does hurt the experience for a majority of players which is why basically every other game ever made has restricted it completely or had a more noticeable punishment for deserting than Enlisted has.
Obviously, DF knows this is a problem which is why they’ve got this issue on their roadmap.
Well said Shadowspite. I indeed was a little harsh and premature when saying I’d “just uninstall and move on.” This game is great and I definitely do not want to hurt it or its players. Just wanted to throw out an alternative suggestion that may be very welcoming to newcomers and veterans alike as well as voicing a disagreeing opinion towards any outright punishment.
I guess they don’t care about winning percentage
Rather, they care about what kind of game they have experienced.
just like this game
I played a little bit yesterday in order to solve 3 silver coin tasks.
I watched as they kept walking in a straight line and were shot, or some players with poor skills occupied the vehicle for a long time, making it difficult for ground units to receive support.
While watching those cannon fodders voluntarily commit suicide, I kept building spawn points and trucks, and kept sneaking in to destroy tanks and sneak attack reinforcements, and release smoke to ensure that the 7 idiots behind me who couldn’t even make a detour had a chance to enter the stronghold.
When there is only one capture point left, the cost is less than 300.
After those idiots spent all the resources I finally ended this misery and completed all the silver coins
Or K/D.
My job is to attack and intercept the enemy on the front line and be responsible for most of the support operations in the rear.
This means I have to take more risk of death and switch teams more often
I am only proud of efficiency and contribution
Instead of hiding like a bug behind the shadow of a house to sneak up on enemies who show their faces and be proud of the experience and victory gained by parasitizing others.
